Just renewed myself here, so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I am after a few site addresses of churches that are on the internet... My interest is that I am doing a dissertation for an Honours degree on the Virtual Church movement, and am seeking 3 or 4 case studies as part of my research... Any help that anyone can give will be much appreciated...
If this is the wrong place to ask, then can somebody please suggest the best forum for me to post this in...

I don't know of any specific internet sites that are dedicated to being an online church. But this site could certainly count as one. Most of the sites I visit are web pages about churches that meet offline.
One way to go is to look at another type of virtual church that exists in a free massive multiplayer online game known as Second Life. You can go to www.secondlife.com (http://www.secondlife.com) and download the free client and get a basic account. There are a couple churches in there that meet on Sundays and actually hold virtual worship services, via streaming music and audio from the internet.
I have attended a couple services and sat in on a couple of bible studies. The two most prominent churches in Second Life for Christians are: ALM Cyber Church and The Journey. I attended one service at ALM Cyber Church and a bible study and devotional study at The Journey.
Both of these churches have a virtual pastor and congregation, and include animations that mimick kneeling, praying, and swaying rhythmically with the music, which happens to be the more contemporary Christian music and contemporary style of worship. It'd be refreshing to find a church in Second Life that was more liturgical, such as a Lutheran church that is not ELCA. Perhaps a Catholic church or Anglican. These churches might seem a bit off the wall or unconventional but there is sound teaching at both of them. I think ALM is a bit more sound than the Journey, but that's just me. I'm hoping to maybe find some non-ELCA Lutherans and maybe start a Lutheran church in Second Life. I am considering becoming a Lutheran, but am not one right now. I hope this helps you out.
