Jesus wasn't popular back when He came, He certainly won't be any more popular in modern times.
The Bible teaches that it's when everyone speaks WELL of you, that you're in spiritual trouble... such is the Kingdom of God.

Screw the times. Unbelievers have been saying that for centuries, and the church is still here.

Sorry, I'm missing how this relates to the OP? :)

I cant agree with that because God is NOT like man- they are opposite. Natural carnal man follows his own sinful flesh and is not like the Spirit of God, which is holy.

Anyone that would say such a thing obviously doesn't recognize how much people have NOT changed for thousands of years.

The quote in the OP appears to come from a man who is saying that Christianity is "out" and making God in your own image is "in."

First of all, what context was this quote said in?
The book it comes from is a book about false teachers in our churches.
Here is a link that talks about the book:

Since we don't know what context this quote was used in, we can't automatically assume what he means by it.

Remember that Jesus said if they hated Me they will hate you too. The Light exposes the darkness that is in man. Modern society is technologicaly rich and for the most part spiritually bankrupt. Professing themselves to be wise they became fools.

I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion. Please explain. I am wondering if you really read the quotation at all.

The Quotation is in the context of the information given in the web site that you gave us. It also stands fully on its own when describing the modern church and many of her men in the pulpit.
The author speaks in love and concern. He speaks plainly and to the point.
