The recent post by Twincrier brings into focus the fact that there are at least 2 very different definitions of Fundamentalist. As currently defined, it matters not if you are Reformed, Freewill, Lutheran, or any of a host of other differentials. As long as you hold to the Fundamentals (basically, a high view of Scriptural authenticity, authority and authorship), one is welcome.
However there is another definition, one more "denominational" in character. Those bretheren (and I do count them brothers), have specific distinctives such as Arminianism, abstention from alcohol and so on. They also have their own institutions.
PERHAPS it may be best to create a subforum for those who share those distinctives.
I would like especially the opinions of those here who view themselves as Fundamentalists not only because of their view of Scripture, but for other reasons as well.
I would be happily be labeled a fundamentalist with a small "f" and ced the title of "Fundamentalist" to others.
I post this in the hope of allowing a safer space for others.
