Well I had my first day of orientation at the Catholic Hospital I ot a position at. I said something about getting the job before..

Well anyway, I must say I was really impressed. We had a Nun, who was the initial speaker/proctor? of the orientaion. Kind of wierd when she introduced herself as Sister, becuase she was wearing street clothes. I did ask her where's the habit, lol, and she said it was pretty much optional nowadays. I metioned to her I was Orthdodox, and her face kind of lit up in a smile and she said "really?"

But back to it..this seemed to me what a hospital should be like (so far). Everything was about God, and Christian virtues, etc. Everything focused on this, and patient care. Usually when you go to orientation in a hospital, you feel like it's a business. I didn't get that impression here. She also went into the history of the sister hospitals, and who the Saints were who they were named after. Was pretty interesting.

I think I will be happy here..

Anyway thought I would share..

That's awesome Repentant. We had a very good experience with a Catholic Childrens Hospital When My brother was sick. They had a beautiful little chapel, with a byzantine side altar that I loved. They were wonderful people, and really cared about the kids.

I second the motion. Sounds great!

My little piece of wisdom is to always do what you enjoy doing (ie, work) and never put money first.

Say what you want about the RCs, the structured and centralized nature of the RC Church makes it a natural at things like hospitals, schools, or anything that requires organization.
