Apparently they run away until the ass says otherwise.
“One day they came to make Abba Isaac a priest. Hearing this, he ran away to Egypt. He went into a field and hid himself in the midst of the hay. So the clergy went after him in pursuit. Reaching the same field, they stopped there to rest a little, for it was night. They unharnessed the ass to let it graze. The ass went close to the old man, so, when dawn came and they looked for her, they found Abba Isaac too, which filled them with astonishment. They wanted to bind him, but he did not allow it, saying, ‘I will not run away again. For it is the will of God, and wherever I flee, I find that.’ - The Desert Fathers

Lol..

Alot of Holy men have does similar things. They don't worthy to be a Priest/Bishop etc. I honestly couldn't tell you what the call to Priesthood is, as I am not a Priest. Although I have desired to become one, but I don't think I am called to it..

St. Niphon (4th century) heard that he was to be made Bishop. So he fled and went into another area. This area also was in need of a Bishop. While he was going, a Bishop of the area he was fleeing to had a vision. It was St. Paul the Apostle telling him that the first person he sees that resembles him (St. Paul) is the one who shall be Bishop. So St. Niphon goes into the Church, and the Bishop looks at him and notices the similarities between him and St. Paul. There was also an icon there in which he looked at. St. Niphon also had a vision himself of St. Paul tending to sheep. He handed over his rod to St. Niphon and told he he is to tend these sheep. So once St. Niphon heard the story of the Bishop, he conceded and became a Bishop...

This was off the top of my head as I can't seem to find my book about St. Niphon. this is pretty much the jist of it. But if there are any inaccuracies, I apologize.

Do you suppose that you will have any peace at all if you do not become a priest gtsecc? If you were to go an build cabinets or fly planes would you ever be at rest?

Not sure how someone can become a priest when they have yet to even convert to the religion?

St. John Chrysostom's writings "On the Priesthood" (http://www.monasteryproducts.org/product_info.php?cPath=46_6&products_id=1716&osCsid=4fa2f9d7ef64adf3c214c5c03620dd49) would help you out big-time, gtsecc. The Fathers are always a good bet. (St. Gregory the Theologian also wrote/spoke on this subject, I'll see if I can find what he wrote after I'm done with classes today.)
