Most of us know this. We read a passage or chapter and memorize verses. For whatever reasons we miss the meaning.

I am so guilty of this.

As I have been reading tonight the "two unchangeable things" caught my attention.

I had to stop and think 'What are these two unchangeable things"

I personally thing they are (1) the promise to Abraham and (2) The oath God made to Himself

What are your thoughts

I agree with you on this. I think you're right on. :)

God's covenant with Abraham was based on two immutable parts. First, His promise was (and is) based on His own unchanging word. That is, He cannot lie. Furthermore, He will not permit His word to fail. What He tells us, He will do.

Secondly, God swares His oath by Himself (after all, there is nothing greater, is there). He bases His promise on His own Holy Character.
