OK, I'm using up my second request on this one, but I finally found a free transparent gif maker, so here goes. Um, it's a grouping, hope that's allowed.

Question:

Regarding the free transparent GIF maker... where is it? And also can one run it through Mozilla Firefox?

I'd love to learn how to do this!

The transparent gif maker I used is called Graphics Converter. Its not an online thing and depending what speed of online service you have, it downloads between 1h 45m - 4.5 minutes. Its free, but theres only one catch to it, it has an really annoying nag screen every time you open it (10 sec wait). You can find it here (Mac & PC) http://www.lemkesoft.com

Sorry, just noticed this.

"Acknowledged" means that the request has been added to the current "To Be Considered" list. This request is on the October 15 "To Be Considered" list. We're currently working on the September lists. We haven't reviewed the October 15 list yet, so it will be a few weeks before there is news.
