I came across his name via an article (http://www.scrollpublishing.com/store/article-kingdom.html) by a conservative anabaptist. I googled around and read the wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Stanley_Jones) and thought I'd check into Wesley's Parish since this missionary is one of your own.

Can someone tell me more about him?

E. Stanley Jones was the greatest Methodist missionary of the 20th century, although most Methodists of the latter half of the century probably never heard of him. He was a missionary to India, close friend of Ghandi, and a prolific writer of devotional books, including "The Word Made Flesh" (recently republished) and his spiritual autobiography, "A Song of Ascents." His last book, "The Divine Yes," was published after he suffered a debilitating stroke and rendered unable to speak. The School of World Mission and Evangelism and the endowed Chair of Evangelism at Asbury Theological Seminary are named for him. He was the father-in-law of Bishop James K. Matthews.

I going to hunt up some of his stuff. Too bad he's not more well known....

If you can find a copy of A Song of Ascents (http://www.cokesbury.com/search.aspx?scope=title&query=A%20Song%20of%20Ascents&pid=0687097924), you can get the whole story from the man himself.
