The man states why on his own website (http://www.erguncaner.com/site/). I wonder why we are so quick to speculate instead of getting the information straight from the person themself?

By the way I find Craner more creditable then White. I would feel that way no matter what my view of this issue. My friend has seen how White can be. You can read more about that here (http://www.afcministry.com/James_White_corner.htm). I sometimes wonder if White has the ability to have good Christian fellowship with those that openly disagree with Calvinism.

Good Day,
http://www.founders.org/blog/
Tom Ascol has posted his insights, seeing how he and Emir worked out the format of the debate which was changed my the moderator just a few days ago. With out input from the debators themself.
It is a shame, that men can not stand by a agreement that was made weeks ago between those (debators) whom are directly involved.
The students at Liberty are the ones who suffer because of such actions.
In Him,
Bill

Speculate? Would you please indicate where in my post I speculated on anything. I would really, really like to know so I can better understand your accusation. Either that, or you might consider an apology since, in reality, I did not and was not speculating on anything.

This is what you said:

So your raising up the question why Caner refuses to debate. First your assuming Caner is refusing to debate without getting the whole story. Then your asking for us to speculate why. I don't want people to do until they find out the other side of the story.

I took the time to read some of the information. I don't know this fellow (White) but he comes across to me as hostile and arrogant.
I am a Falwell supporter and I am sure whatever they decide was the right thing to do.
When Godly Growing Soul winning Churches are on the march and wading in the ponds of life to reach the lost the leaches are there and will attempt to suck the blood out of the vibrant life of the faithful.

My dear friend I am not going to let Calvinist have a free slam vest of Jerry Falwell and friends.
If you are sympathetic with the Fatalist Tulip Troops and their Leach like approach to growth - so be it.
Perhaps you will grow up to pastor a large Calvinist church whereby you will not be like most Calvinist who are leaches on the growing vibrant Non-Calvinist Evangelical Churches.
If Calvinism is such a "right on" message then go out in the Highways and Byways and compel them to come and hear you, don't go to an established church and leach on others work and labor.
You don't find Non-Calvinist Baptist and Non-Tongues Baptist invading TULIP Churches and Tongues Churches and taking the innocent and new converts into captivity to their Teaching.
It is always the Tulip Troops and the Tongue Twisters who are the culprits in this game of proselytizing.
If you are so on fire for the TULIP then go knock on doors and win them to your view and stop proselytizing.
Remember roll with the punch.

Actually I consider the issue of Calvinism/Arminianism to be a debate of theology. Theology in and of itself is very important since we cannot worship who we do not know.
BUT whether you are a Calvinist, Arminian, or Baptist (;) ) the focus of all that we say and do should be the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Like Paul I want people to remember that I declared to them:
"...that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve." (1 Cor 15)
Too often we allow this debate to be our focus, both Calvinists and non-Calvinists alike. While it is of great importance to have a correct docrtinal view, all these things should be placed in the shadow of the Cross of Christ.
Blessings,
Justin

That is very good. I like that. I agree. I personally would not engage in the debate unless engaged.
The sad truth is that Calvinist are the engagers and it so happens that the non-Calvinist are forced to defend themselves once attacked.
The proselytizing of the Tulip and Tongues groups force normal everyday believers to take up arms and defend themselves against their slamming and constant attract on us.
What you suggest is the correct way, but we live in a real world where we are forced to be on guard against the proselytizers.
We can still stay focused on what you say but unfortunately we must also engage the forces that seek to infiltrate and proselytize.

Ps. I graduated from Liberty with a degree in Social Science, so I won't be stepping behind the sacred desk anytime soon ;)
Even so if I did, I would raise the banner of Christ, not Calvin.

Yes, a very mocking picture of fellow Christians. I wonder what God thinks of all this whilie many are dying every day and spending eternity in hell while we have stupid arguments like this and start mocking each other. Very mature...

A fine example of the Calvinist continued attempt to demonize all non-Calvinist. I also suspect that this site is party to the this attract on other non-Calvinist. We will see.
Calvinist are given a free ride on these forums in my opinion.

I am not so sure the intent was too mock, as I can not see in to the heart of the artist, nor can you.
So we should just let it be, I just found it funny not mocking. The fact that you see it (mocking) that way is very telling in and of itself.

You are slick my friend. You need to remove yourself as a moderator. You bias is getting in your way.
You are one of the main ones in the attack on non-Calvinist and you need to either stop or remove yourself as a moderator. Please don't lecture me or address me until you correct your attacks on non-Calvinist

Only God and those men knows the real truth about what happened. People can go on speculating what they think happened and it only turns into gossip and maligning good people.
Even though I've heard Caner preach a couple of times and have a great respect for him, I think we should let this subject go and it might not hurt to just close the thread. :)

The issue is not Caner it is the posting of the web site to inflame and BBAS as a moderator is inflaming and taking a back door approach - I am offended that This site permits the constant use of The Alpha and Omega web site.
The moderators appear to me to be biased but we will see.
It is a slick way to do your thing and get away with it.

What is this "Alpha and Omega" website? Any link? Or is it better that I don't know about it?

I am keeping this thread closed. It's beyond clean up. Further, The point has been made... the debate is off and the thread really circled the drain.
I am astonished at the statements made by some of the posters in this thread.
To call yourself a Christian and then belittle the beliefs of other Christians is just plain mean. Only God can know the heart of man. No one can purport to know if another one is saved or not regardless of your personal view of Christianity, it's Christ's view through His word not man's.
