 Hi everyone,
My name is Belle and I'm new to this forum. I'm Southern Baptist and generally tend to agree with their doctrine and their pastors, I find the pastor of the little church I go to refreshing. I have been married two years, it's been an uphill battle but I think things'll get better once we figure out where God wants us to be. Ah, who knows, maybe we'll be alright where we are. We moved here a week ago and I'm already set to pack up and move...
God bless,
Belle

Welcome! I hope you find a home here. Your story reminds me of when I moved my wife and daughters to Fla. The day we were moving in my wife called to me as she was cleaning the bathroom of the house we were moving into and sobbing said she just couldn't do it. She wanted to go home. We lived in Fla. for ten years and quickly became very comfortable there. Now I live in Ky. and the same thing happened. It is always difficult to go into unknown territory but it does become home soon. Hang in there. :)

victorianbelle,
What is so bad with where you are? I am SB too and a chaplain at a hospital. We just moved to a new state about 2 1/2 months ago and love it where we are.

Thank you everyone! :) I'm really glad I found CF, yall are so kind and comforting.
I guess the hardest thing is the housing here is soo expensive compared to what we're used to! A nice house close to my husband's work is around $242,000 and he's making about $17/hr. Where we were going to move he was making the same money, but a 5 bedroom/2 bathroom house was only $32.500 (and I don't mean $132,500) on average. However, and hour and a half away from his work we can buy a nice starter home for around $180k, so things are starting to look up. :D

Where is that?????? You can't even buy a car for that anymore!! :o
Well I'll agree that housing prices sure do vary quite a bit. Pray about it. And (hard as it may be) try to keep an open mind. You never know . . .
Glad to have you here anyway. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have been!!!
Welcome!

In Columbus,Mississippi. The average home costs $50,000 and the average person makes about $35,000 a year. It's a pretty neat looking place, my in-laws live there.

My story is very similar. I grew up spending all my holidays in the town I live in now. When I was 9/10 we moved north. When I was 15 (the year I met my future husband) I vowed never to return. We married here, and have had the same PO box and phone number for 30 years.
