Sir Ian Blair has ordered an 'urgent inquiry' after a Muslim police officer was excused from guarding London's Israeli Embassy after he objected to the duty on 'moral grounds'.

PC Alexander Omar Basha - a member of the Metropolitan Police's Diplomatic Protection Group - refused to be posted there because he objected to Israeli bombings in Lebanon and the resulting civilian casualties of fellow Muslims.

Well, it turns out that this Muslim police officer has some interesting ties (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/10/06/npc06.xml). He and his wife were married by radical Islamic cleric Oma Bakri Mohammed, who openly declared war on Britain (http://ussneverdock.blogspot.com/2005/01/british-muslim-declares-war-on-britain.html) and has been kicked out of the U.K.

So, how in the world does this radical Muslim end up being assigned to guard the Israeli Embassy? They don't call it Londonistan (http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/005/871kbaxp.asp) for nothing.

Should we be surprised anymore?

Queen creates mosque inside Windsor Castle. (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3309809,00.html)

Was she bowing to incredible pressure? Nope. She did all of that for just one 19-year old Muslim gift shop employee.
I'll let you all conjecture regarding how many synagogues are in Windsor Castle...

And if this thread is annoying, I'll let this be my last post.

sometimes I wonder if the kettle is boiling and we like frogs didnt even know the heat was being turned up on us:sigh:The Boiled Frog

They say that if you put a frog into a pot of boiling water,
it will leap out right away to escape the danger. But, if you put a frog in a kettle that is filled with water that is cool and pleasant,
and then you gradually heat the kettle until it starts boiling,
the frog will not become aware of the threat until it is too late.
The frog's survival instincts are geared towards detecting sudden changes.
This is a story that is used to illustrate how people might get themselves into terrible trouble.
This parable is often used to illustrate how humans have to be careful to watch slowly changing trends in the environment, not just the sudden changes. Its a warning to keep us paying attention not just to obvious threats but to more slowly developing ones.

What I don't understand is why the Embasy didn't speak up and ask for another guard, one with less ancient feudal ties. :(

Zayit,

I have to go back further than that - how did this guy with close family ties to avowed terrorists get put in such a sensitive position in the first place -

Actually, I know, political correctness - you can't rule out such a person because their spiritual leader is a radical islamofacist who declared war on Britain and was kicked out of the UK. Oh, no, that is being judgemental and G-d knows NO ONE is allowed to be judgemental (i.e. use good judgement), discerning or discriminating in their selections anymore.....
