Hi,

I know there aren't as many of you as there are in the EO and CC forums, BUT, I have a question that I can't find an answer to on the internet.

I have read from many Oriental Orthodox websites about the sacrament of marriage. However, I can't seem to find anything about remarriage, except in the case of being a widow. Does the Oriental Orthodox accept 2nd and 3rd marriages like Eastern Orthodoxy? Finding a concrete answer on this will solve a lot of personal questions regarding the ancient churches. Thank you so much!

Yes, but I heard it being told along the lines that it is not preferrable, that we try to emulate the everlasting relationship between Christ and the Church.

However, it's not forbidden, although in the Coptic Church, it's geared toward a solemn celebration than a joyful one in that there's no crowning going on for the couple.

God bless.
