I can't believe it, it's actually snowing outside. It's only the first day of fall and a few days ago it was 80 degrees. Denver is even under a winter storm warning. It usually doesn't do this for another month.

I was at Target today and saw so many pretty winter decorations. I almost wanted to buy them but I refuse to until Halloweeeenie time is over. I can't decide if I want to do anything Halloweeeeeenie or not... I'd rather put up a nice winter wonderland than a one day thing.
I'm jealous though, I miss snow... just not the slush.

Snow, already?

I hate the snow, it's depressing. It's starting to get cold here too, no snow yet, but i already miss the summer!

It's supposed to be 83 degrees here... Well, it almost never snows here, anyway.

Pretty warm, but atleast it rarely snows where you are. Where are you? I'm coming to live in your area, lols.

The snow flakes are about the size of a half-dollar and I got drenched when I went out to check the mail. of course I live right at the bottom of the mountains so we get it a little more worse, it's probably still raining at my mom's since she lives out in the fields. I still think it's a bit early and it worries me a bit that we're going to have a harsh winter since I have to drive my son to preschool, also I don't want to go into labor when we get a blizzard. I bet tomorrow, it'll be back in the 90's

They are around here already, lights and yard decorations in small quantities. Haven't checked WalMart but I'm guessing there too. WAYYYY too early. I'd like to find some nice fall things but it's all Halloweeeeener.

Where are the mods to sensor the four letter "s word" being used in this thread??? :D

Mike, haven't you heard.

Erwin changed the filter, so now it prints out funny messages ... like [wash my mouth] in brackets for each letter of that word.

Try sending yourself a PM using a lot of cuss words and you will be in for a surprise. Just kidding. I don't want to get you in trouble.
I did it though with the only two words I know and it is funny.

Crazy Liz apparently used a cuss word as a test and Erwin's new filter printed out [wash my mouth] eight times, so I figured it must have been an 8-letter cuss word. Go figure. She must know more cuss words than I do. haha

Denver is known for its whacky weather swings. My BIL lives there, so I keep track of the weather. (He's Orthodox, too. That would be funny if you guys attended the same church...)

Los Angeles is having some wacky weather too.

We have orange skies due to the Lake Castaic forest fire.

I don't feel much like any physical activity as it is hard to breathe.

Before halloween!! The horror.

If I am still mowing, it's ludicrous early.

The weather report said that we are in for an El Nino year .... that means a lot of wet weather with tornado warnings will be spreading across the USA.

So, that means more snow in the mountains but more flooding in the valleys. Move to the high ground if possible.

When I went to Target last week, the Christmas decorations started the aisle next to the Halloween decorations.

I actually live an hour south of Denver, but my husband's cousin lives there and we go to his church quite a lot. What church does your brother go to?

Yesterday as I was driving around in walmart on my electric shopping cart, I saw these toy turkeys that were dressed up like Santa- I think they were implying that thanksgiving is overlooked and we go right into Christmas. there were also christmas decorations everywhere.

I regularly see Christmas ornaments in Hallmark stores before my birthday in early August. THAT is outrage!

Of course we do, Thanksgiving naturally resists commericializing. It's only food, so unless you're Safeway there isn't much to cash in on.

I want to get like an eight foot tall Frosty for the roof this year. I really really like Christmas decorations, especially the lights.

It is 6:39 p.m. here, and it is still 84 degrees. It was warm today, and I did enjoy it, even though hot weather, or too warm, is not my thing. :o

SNOW is a four-letter word...yuck. Had enough here in PA for a lifetime.
I prefer my water sports to be in liquid form.

It is interesting how with this 'global warming' we are having extremes in weather ... intolerably hot summers (117 degrees) followed by snow in Los Angeles.

We had about 3 inches of snow this spring. It was cold but only lasted about 7 hours before all the snow had melted.

It has thrown off my entire hiberbation pattern, which in turn affects my shaving and hair cut schedule. As a result, I ended up with a face mullet in july which nearly ended in tragedy when confronted with a sparkler.

My mother passed over a samoyed puppy for a Keeshond when I was a yute. Fritz raised me for 18 years and influenced my hair style.

talking about nasty global warming effects..we used to have perfectly normal 4-season climate. Now it feels like winter and summer are slowly taking over the intermmediate seasons. This summer was so hot you could barely get out of the house before sundown.Last winter was so cold that going to school and staying in our not so warm classrooms was real nightmare.I really miss my childhood seasons, but it seems the weather will never turn back to the way it was.
