Hello everyone, I'm trying to search for some help and prayers and some answers.. I used to attend a teen bible study years ago, and now I do not attend services or fellowship.. I feel my faith slipping out of my hands and I need Jesus to come back to me. my life has not been doing too well, I tried college but couldn't afford it, due to some past addictions like alchohol and gambling and that ruined my life. I am struggling with my bills, and I'm trying to get help. I cannot work for a couple of months because I have a boxer's fracture in my right hand, and I'm not supposed to use it but I still do use it, doing some PC repair jobs, but there aren't enough jobs. I went to the salvation army and they payed my electricity. I don't have kids or anything like that so I don't know if the government can help me with that. There must be some kind of nonprofit organizations that can help me right? I don't want to lose everything, I really don't. I need Jesus back in my life, and I need a miracle so I don't end up on the streets losing everything I invested into.

God bless,
Adam

Adam,

Greetings, and yet I may seem a little sceptical, as I have seen this kind of begging on Many of the Boards [So-Called-Christian] and the people seem to go from Board to Board.

YOU did not tell US where you were from? YOU did not indicate where in the US or other location you are? ? ?

YOU said nothing about going through the YELLOW PAGES, and visiting LOCAL CHURCHES, for their Help? ? ?

MOST churches have some kind of ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM, where you must demonstrate to the Elder Board, THAT YOU ARE INDEED IN NEED.....?

YOU, SAID Nothing about A CAREER CHANGE? YOU stated that you wanted to Do what you Do? ? ? Psalms 75:6-7

LAST = BUT FIRST, have you petitioned at the Throne of Grace? ? ? Hebrews 4:16?

In Christ Jesus, Roger459

I understand that you may be a little skeptical, but I am trying to get prayer power from God's army... I am not asking for money from anyone but asking for answers on where I should look for financial help. I am from California, USA, moved here in 2003 from Wisconsin, USA which is where I have grown up. I can try to visit some churches and seek some help, I will let you know how that works out. I am sincere and hope that you will not see me as someone that would try doing shady things going from "board to board" .. I really need help!!! I want to live a normal life, meet a nice girl and get married someday.

My friend, I sympathize deeply with you. You said that you haven't been attending a church or a Bible study for a long time and you don't feel that Jesus has been in your life. I cannot speak for God, but there are times where He will bring adversity and difficult circumstances into our lives for the very purpose of bringing us to our knees before Him and learn to die to ourselves and to commit our hearts to Him. It is in these circumstances that we need to rely on God because we can't do it ourselves.

The Bibles tells us that God disciplines those whom He loves (Heb 12:6) much like a loving parent has to discipline their wayward children sometimes.

An illustration is recorded in Luke 15:11-32. It is the story of the prodigal son. This young man had messed up his life so much that even the pigs were eating better than him. When the son returned, the father was so overjoyed that he ran to him "while he was still a long way off...threw his arms around him and kissed him." This was cause for a huge celebration and the father (God) treated his son (you) like a king. "But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."

Jesus also taught us: "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be give to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Mat. 6:31-33, NIV)

The Bible says that a bird does not fall to the ground without God knowing. But notice the conditional nature here, if we seek God first, He will take care of our needs. If we turn away in disobedience and are not living for Him, then we reap what we sow and bad decisions will beget bad consequences.

I will be praying for you. I sincerely hope that this situation brings you to a deep commitment to Jesus and that He richly blesses you for it. I will be praying that your needs are met and that God's providence will be with you. I believe there are organizations that will help you, unfortunately I am not familiar with them. If I discover any I will PM you with the info.

God Bless you!

Your in a pretty hard spot right now, but your one the right side of the problem because your seeking God. I believe He will deliver you, provide for you and show you the right path if you ask Him, have faith in Him, but remember all things happen in God's time and in His way.

Seek, seek, seek Him...

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (niv)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."

I would suggest you find yourself a good Christ centered, Teaching from the Bible church and get some spiritual support and prayers. The fellowship with other Christians will strengthen you. We all need the teaching.

There are a lot of good non-denominational churches out there pray and search for one.

Lean on Jesus He'll guide your steps.

You have a prayer from me.

Christ does not leave us, he promised never to leave or turn away from us. i agree with the others, although i don't feel that you are begging for anything but looking for some guidance. i don't know about wisconsin but there should be some type of shelter or relief fund. department of social services, aid, one of those places should be able to point you in the right direction.

Adam, when I read your post the first thing that came to me, read more, pray harder, and get in a good church. I notice that when times get hard and I will be in so much pain...I don't pray as much or read His word as much. I just soak in the pain trying to figure out how I got like this lol. God is so awesome. He knows how you feel and He is waiting for you to come back to Him. Just tell Him that you can't do it without Him. Don't be like my cousin or my mom. They lost everything; my cousin was homeless on the street eating out of the garbage. Submit, humble yourself, and trust in God.

Go to a local church. They should have experience and resources to aid you.

OK, well, it sounds like you haven't had time to become more than a babe in the word so this may not be for you but then again, if you're man enough to step up to it, who knows? In Romans it talks about THE truth vs THE lie. THE truth is God's love. THE lie is "It's a dog-eat-dog world and ya gotta watch out for number one cause if you don't take care of yourself no one else is going to!" All these attacks the devil is making on your life are for one reason and goal... to make you choose the lie instead of the truth. Do you want to turn the tables on ol' splitfoot? Put your heart out there like Jesus did and LOVE God's people. I'm sorry you are hurting and maybe you're going to have to sell some stuff but at your age you have time to start something again in your life. God wants to work in you to will and to do of His good pleasure... He wants to show you what love is all about. His enemy wants to drag you down and kill you. Choose love and choose life. There are many people having a hard time like you. some worse, ya? How about devoting some of your life to helping them instead of helping yourself. I don't mean to demean you. You have every right to be freaking out. It's just that a pity party isn't going to do you any good. The devil has no mercy. There's only one way to win. Don't play his game. Go volunteer at a homeless shelter or a soup kitchen or just look around for someone who needs a hand... don't let self concern overwhelm you. You have the greatest treasure there in your earthen vessel... God's love!
