For me? Christ has no denomination, He is, therefore I am His follower. The churches used to be named by their towns or cities, not according to quirks of man. So, there, I said it, it's mans sin that separates us.

God bless you!

I don't know why this question keeps coming up. But, all it means is that we follow Yeshua, and we believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God. We are not affiliated with any denom, or any "head" church, we have our own board, our own Elders. If it ain't in the Word, we don't follow it. We believe the gifts of the Spirit are for today, and allow them to manifest in the congregation.

Hehe, I like the way you put this. It does almost seem that the non-denominational movement has become so ubiquitous in American evangelicalism that it is almost a denomination. Most non-den. churches start independently from a more "grass-roots" method rather than a minister who is trained in a particular church's seminary being appointed by the church to an existing congregation. Church government is usually congregational style with a board of elders.

We believe the gifts of the Spirit are for today, and allow them to manifest in the congregation.

This general statement does not describe all non-denominational Christians. None of the non-den. churches I have been to believe this. If you look at the poll in this forum, you'll see that the majority of them actually do not speak in tongues. Not trying to argue the point, just wanted to give that other perspective. :)

Because some churches don't belong to any of the major denominations. They may have disaffiliated or have always been independent.

non-denominational means not attached to any denomination or any set of rules. I consider myself at the moment to be non-denominational, not feeling obliged to follow any churches set of rules.

If I join a 'non-denominational' church, then I have become part of a denomination again with a set of rules, etc. so I a non-denominational in a non-denominational chuch with a set of rules such as I was trying to get away from.

I am non-denominational without a church. I think I will start saying I am 'Independent'.;)

there is one authoritative Scripturally accurate book on the subject, still with a possible mistake in it though. (and recognised simply by millions of 'christians' as breathed by G_d, but too hard for them to live by, or they are unwilling to pay the price, except in one country).
it is no secret hidden away, but seems like too many enjoy the counsel of G_d like a nugget of knowledge to tuck away safe and sound and be proud about knowing, yet think they can get away without living G_d's Way.

yb5, if you want to obtain it, pm me and i'll give you first opportunity, as it is available in limited quantity on the internet as far as i know(i've been able to obtain only 2 copies in 2 years due to cost or scarcity). then, in 2 or 3 weeks, i'll disclose the title in this thread if i remember or someone reminds me. i just don't know how hard it actually is to get today, so if i find out a fair supply is available i may post it sooner.

Also instead of having a head church they believe in God/Jesus/Holy Spirit to be the head we follow them they are the top leaders:)

This is why I was never fond of protestantism. There are simply too many denominations and divisions. A true church stays united with each other and dosen't divide constantly when they disagree with each other. This is why I will always be a Catholic.
