:preach:

We, as Christians, are to be the Salt and the Light of the world.

This means, laying down our complaceny and picking up our spiritual swords.

To that end, Christian Soldiers @ ************** strives to raise awareness of Christians to various current socio/political issues.

Please post any resources which you feel may work to help acheive this goal.

Thank you and God bless.

While it's true that Christians as instructed to become "soldiers" in the spiritual battle, that's not necessarily what being "salt and light of the world" means.

It's an ideal metaphor for witnessing rather than spiritual warfare, although you could say that you can use spiritual warfare as PART of your witness.

The concluding application of the salt and light verses of Matthew 5: 13-15, Matthew 5:16 says:
"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

Here's a great sermon on that topic: http://bayareachurch.org/wma/LynnStringfellow20060910_late.wma

That's Lynn Stringfellow, and the title of the sermon is "Be Salt."

Thank you for fine tuning the definitions of salt and light.

My point about complacent Christians stands, however.

The Salt metaphor relates to the preservation of the world, which is decaying around us. We need to be speaking out on issues, rather than cloistering in our own little church circles.

Please post any issues you, as Christians, would like to see addressed at Christian Soldiers

Thanks.

I think it would be better to take the time to build relationships with people before asking for content for your personal website. IMO threads like this are in the least poor taste and at the most disrespectful of this site and its membership.

Christian Soldiers isn't intended as a 'personal' website, but as a proactive effort to educate and enrich the lives of Christians, and to address a variety of issues of the world we live in, on which Christians should be standing firm. I am offering the members of this forum an opportunity to have issues you feel are important aired and addressed.

I'm sorry to have offended you.

I was/am not offended. I do however, think building relationships is key to effective dialog. I understand CF to be about dialog. It appears your motivation is merely to generate traffic to your site taking advantage of this sites large and diverse membership, who btw have a forum to "have issues they feel are important aired and addressed" - that which you are currently posting on.

Peace in Xp

I have clearly stated my motivation. The offense taken is now mine.

CF is such a huge site, much is lost. Our mission site strives to provide focus to certain issues.

If you find no value to that, fine. Don't presume to judge my motives.
