I have been going to an Assembly of God church since I was 13 and I used to be comfortable there but now I feel like everyone is judging me. I have been looking into the Episcopalian church I have been to one service and really enjoyed it. I was wondering if anyone had any advice.

Well, as long as they believe that the Bible is Gods Word. There are many churches today that preach positive thinking and are social churches - but don't even mention the name Jesus or that He died on the cross.

People shouldn't be judging you - but should be showing the love of Christ. If you comfortable with the church you have been visiting, then attend there. I don't know much about their doctrine. I'm nondenominational - and I'm glad to keep it that way.

being pre-judged or judged unrighteously, is not.
The scripture doesn't instruct us not to judge at all.
It tells HOW to judge.
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
That bein' said, so what if they judge?
Is your comfort found in their opinion?
I realize it's ridiculous to hang out with hostile people, but you give me no clue as to wether you're just self-concious & a little paranoid, or if these people harbor ill will.

At any rate Rachey, don't let the devil have his way. If people are mistreating you, get some moral support & lovingly confront them.:)

I know quite well how you feel. About a year and a half ago I moved house and since I've moved I haven't found a church where I feel comfortable. Although there is one church that I haven't gone to yet.... Maybe if you do like that other church, go again, see how it feels. If you start really liking it then why not go?

I used to be surprised by nobody giving me strange looks when I went to an Orthodox church dressed more or less like a punk rocker. Later I have learned that when you stand on a firm ground there is no need to judge other people. I have also heard of Orthodox parishes (especially in Russia) where there are some very strict grannies who drive you out of the church if they donīt like your looks, but that must be an exception.
