Should one respect fellow Christians LESS?

I base the question on the following quote:

I guess I believe in tolerance if its a sinner, but if a christian is sinning, I won't tolerate it. Would you want me to tolerate a sinner? Paul says to not have company with someone who claims to be a christian but not to be a jerk(I agree with you) and reprimand him like a brother. I'm sorry if I'm coming across really harsh. I though you were defending your own use of it. I'm not going to walk up to old friends of mine and treat them like garbage because they smoke weed! lol That wouldn't be a good influence! Love the sinner, hate the sin!

"That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." - Luke 12:47-48

I agree with the poster you quoted.

It isn't a matter of respect...it is accountability.

An unbeliever does not know any better while a believer should...thus a diferent standard in accountability.

We are still to call a sin a sin but how we handle each situation may well be very diferent.

In todays world tolerance has a whole new meaning and it is a bad thing.

Should one respect fellow Christians LESS?

I base the question on the following quote:

I would say "none of the above" . I give a christian ( or anyone else ) as much respect as they give to me . If a christian decides to tell me that something that I am doing is a sin as if they are my Lord , I laugh in their face . They have no authority to tell me about my relationship with the Father and their walking by the written code instead of the Spirit shows that they are whitewashed tombs .

If they come to me as siblings in the Lord , I would have no problem discussing the situation with them .

I do feel that a christian is more acountable to God for what they do than a non believer but i will respect both the same. I also feel that it depends how far along the path a christian is to how acountable they are.

I would prefer God to judge, as im not qualified.
