View Full Version : Potential downtime as we change web server software

I've bitten the bullet and I'm about to change over from lighttpd to httpd (Apache 2) as our web server software due to the instability of lighttpd causing occasional server 500 errors.
This may mean some amount of downtime, and broken links, as I convert the lighttpd config to httpd.
Just warning people - this is happening right now.
EDIT: It's done! :)

Does this have anything to do with the random 500 - Internal Server Errors we keep seeing around here?
EDIT: Nevermind, I read the other thread on this. Apparently so. :)

I look at the bright side... CF downtime, gives me the incentive to catch up on my reading:D

It's done! CF is now running the latest version of Apache 2. :)
Let me know if this is an improvement.

Well I couldn't get on at all last night due to 500 errors, but no problem today- it's flying here.
Thanks Erwin!

I'm hoping that this complete change to the web server software will fix this problem once and for all! It is going quite fast at the moment. :)

I don't notice much of a difference, but that's probably because I never really paid attention to how fast it was going before. But I trust that it's faster now :).
