I'm not sure about Benny Hinn, never met the guy... in my life, I can't judge anyone/anything from a distance... much of what I hear may be rumours especially in case like this.
I've heard people say he's great, a real man of God. Then again there are people like yourself who question him.
My question to you...
On what do you think we should judge him as being not of God? Or vice versa?

They should pray that God will increase his annointing and use him in greater ways. I thank God for Benny Hinn and his healing ministry.
Mods: pls dont let this be another WOF-bashing thread.

Please be careful not to start bashing other Christians. You may state your viewpoints, but do it respectfully. And let's accept the opinions of others even if they disagree with your viewpoint.
Thank you.

Well, I think that Christians should read their Bible and pray and then I believe it would become very apparent that what he teaches is unbiblical. The catch is that it is not a difficult sell to tell someone what they really desire to hear. I don't personally think it takes a great man of God to go to a ridiculously poor country like Africa and tell the 10,000 people that show up to your show that if you "just believe enough" then you will be driving a Cadillac, or to tell someone that if they "just have enough faith" that they will be cured of what ails them. As far as how we should deal with him on a spiritual level we should definitely pray for him that he would come to know the truth of the Gospel. And, if you see him on T.V., well, just change the channel.
For those of you who support Benny Hinn I mean no offense. I don't believe the man has any kind of special annointing and I think he does alot to damage the view that the world has of Christianity. You are obviously free to believe otherwise.
God bless

Benny Hinn had recently stated that jesus christ was walking about in jerusalem , and he meant "now".
I have chosen to disbelieve his statement and therefore my perception of him is that of a false prophet .

For real? When... I will just look it up maybe... Did he say he was in the desert per chance? That would be prophecy fulfilled wouldn't it...
I have seen the guy once maybe on tv for about 10 minutes... but then I have heard so many poeple say he's for real, that people get healed...
then again I was healed sitting in a chair at home so my mind isn't real made up about guys like him who go round doing it... if faith be real why do I need Benny... but then the apostles did go round healing too... so did Jesus, but not for money... ... I do see a slight problem with the money part... kind of tempting the devil to make people ill and then drag them over to him, yea I do see that sorry... see it in any paid evangelist... un-fortune-itly.

I found a real interesting page here.
http://www.pfo.org/bhnecro.htm
I have a problem with people claiming visions of the dead or of hell as being from God ... it just doesn't add up real well. Saul got killed for doing that.
Well maybe the day is here guys. They been coming in from every denomination for a while now.
Matthew 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. 25 "Behold, I have told you in advance. 26 "So if they say to you, `Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, `Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them. 27 "For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
So what does Benny say concerning the Holy Spirit anyone know? anyone been to see him?
He sells some interesting books for sure...
Got those at His official website.

Hmm you may be right I have never looked the guy up thanks for the lead guys. Wow, I have heard lots of people say he is for real, now I am not sure. I think the statement below speaks for itself... but there should be some authentication on this stuff...
http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/bhinn.html
(3) Benny Hinn - His Teachings Biblical Discernment Ministries, 1992
"Hinn claims to actually be a channel for God-that God enters him and takes over his mind and tongue to the point where he is unaware of what he has said. After his sermon on December 31, 1989, at Orlando Christian Center, during which he gave several future prophecies, Hinn expressed that he was drunk-presumably on the Holy Spirit-and asked someone to tell him what he had just said. In another statement, Hinn asserts that though we are not Almighty God Himself, nevertheless, we are now divine (12/1/90 TBN)."

Well either way no biggie... Jesus told you to look to God not the prophets anyway. He never even said anyone had to follow the apostles, he only sent them out to declare his name.
Just don't go stoning the guy to death, even Jesus may not like that.

What do you guys think of the idea of the laying on of hands/imparting of annointing stuff anyway?
Just so you know I think its a real fuzzy if not scary idea, but just wondering what you all think....
I found some real well written crits searching netscape on Benny btw.... ran into some of his associations I was unaware of... and well ummm.... I will give the guy a flat out zero as a result of his belief mingling and posturing shall we say. I am pretty sure that info wouldn't be out there unless it were true, plus I got 3 different sites backing the info up... if it weren't true, they'd get sued for the amount of discrediting they got going on, no way would Benny miss it. therefore, probably true.
But not real sure there is anything anyone can do about it Soccer, except stay away. there's a reason God allows this, just thank Him for giving you eyes to see. thanks again to you for the lead, not something i would generally bother with.

I was watching his progam on tv when he said it , and i'd like to add...Australian 60 minutes did a program on him , they did a check on a lot of the people he healed and some had died from their illnesses and many never really recovered from their illness , but Benny Hinn was a whole lot richer .

Yea I checked out who they say he affilates with/supports... stay away.. I bet they did get sick indeed.
Anytime you see a 'prophet' type like that, taking money from people, you should be suspicous. That's the devil at work... sick one day... run to benny (or whoever) get healed... sick next day (run to benny get healed) viscious cycle.
Bob Larson's another i'd like to check out what op there? I saw him once, and wasn't real impressed. I do realize that he has been at the forefront bringing this stuff to light... and that he does truly expose the devil, but there were a couple things really bothered me about his show... like he takes the bible, calls it the sword of the spirit... and starts whopping this lady on her back with 'the sword of the spirit'... ummm not quite.. bob... somewhere in there I see the guy as slightly confused... and not repenting of it. But making a living off it.
You know we all been confused at times about religion... but the ability to repent, drop your imaginations no matter how hard they been drilled into you, and just let Him lead you is worth more than anything money can buy... Jesus said... if you want to follow me, give up all you've got.. it meant ideas too, not just physical objects. Everything.

In an interview with CT (Christianity Today) Oct. 28, 1991, Hinn said he would no longer use the term revelation knowledge in reference to some of his teachings because of the implication that those teachings were directly from God and thus infallible. While he has shunned the term revelation knowledge, just a few months ago on TV, Hinn said that the Holy Spirit was at that moment teaching him that God originally designed women to give birth out of their sides.
 Do I need to say more?

I honestly never checked him out. And then when I hear so many saying good stuff, well I don't like to call anyone a quack right off... but babe when it shows it shows...
out their sides huh. that is so extreme I can't even hardly laugh.
what else.
You know what Paul maybe meant when he said 'i die to myself everyday' I think it was close to this like I say above - "but the ability to repent, drop your imaginations no matter how hard they been drilled into you, and just let Him lead you is worth more than anything money can buy... Jesus said... if you want to follow me, give up all you've got.. it meant ideas too, not just physical objects. Everything."
you got to drop your daily accumulated ideas, daily, and just let Jesus lead you.
something must be because everyday I am assualted with something newer and stranger than the last...

You would think that making coments like that.. Benny Hinn would lose his popularity , but oh no!....he continues to be even more popular .
Says a lot about the people who support and follow him doesn't it .
You gotta wonder what's in some peoples heads , women having babies out of their sides!! come on!
This gets even worse when you take love making into consideration , we might have to re-write the kama sutra . :D
