Mountain of God Jebal Musa

Has anyone here read the book called "The Gold of Exodus by Howard Blum? Published 1998 it is supposed to be the story of two adventurous men that found the REAL Mt Sinai.

An excerpt from an Amazon review :

When a millionaire adventurer goes in search of the true Mount Sinai, he gets more than he bargained for. Spies, missiles, and secret military installations are just some of the obstacles that Larry Williams and his sidekick Bob Cornuke must confront in their unprecedented journey to find the lost treasures of Moses. In The Gold of Exodus, award-winning journalist Howard Blum records a page-turning story of an adventure that makes history. While risking their necks by sneaking into the xenophobic Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, amateur archaeologists Williams and Cornuke become pawns in a game of international espionage that eventually leads them to the top of the most sacred mountain in the world, and into the hands of shotgun-wielding Bedouins. The Gold of Exodus is a true story that is too unbelievable to be fiction, too suspenseful to be put down, and too significant to soon be forgotten.

I remember when reading it they said that they found a large amount of jewelry that could be part of the booty from Egypt ( I guess it wasn't all melted down) at the base of this mountain in Saudi Arabia. It was also said that they (the Saudi’s) were to have a very interesting exhibit in the near future. That was 6 years ago.

Has anyone heard anything about this? And what do you think about this, Mt Sinai in Saudi Arabia? After all The Midianites were said to live there in that area.

Ah Ha! Someone who is interested. ;)

Yes, the traditional site "found" by Constantine's step mother Catherine is thought NOT to be the place. It is lacking in many aspects of what the Bible records and implies. Also the crossing is believed to be found and it is indeed incredible.

The above mentioned book is very interesting to read, however after doing a little research I found that those that wrote the book were not the first to discover this, but had built on anothers findings, maps and data. Go to this website here The Red Sea Crossing (http://www.wyattmuseum.com/red-sea-crossing.htm) to start and read about the more acurate Red Sea Crossing starting from the plain where Moses assembled all the tribes. It is facinating that after all these years this man has found chariot wheels on both sides, and also the underwater "bridge".

Then when you are through there continue on to Mt Sinai - the real one (http://www.wyattmuseum.com/mount-sinai.htm) here and take a look at that "burnt" mountain top.

If you look at Galatians 4 (Paul is comparing Sinai with Hagar) Paul says that Sinai is in Arabia.

If you look at maps for the location of ancient Midian you will see that it is on the western coast of Saudi Arabia. Mount Horeb is there where Moses encountered God. God told him that he would bring Israel back to that mountain after the Exodus.

So Saudia Arabia seems to be correct.

I wonder if there is an allogory here. At the foot of the mountain you have Islamics, wild abandon with their golden calf (Mohammad). There will be a few who will go up the mountain and see God (Walid) and come down to tell the people.
