Didnt know if i was speak on other thread so i thought i would start a new one. Anyones opinion welcome. Isnt Messianic Jew simply a man made label? Must you be born Jewish to be one? Are not the Jews simply 2 tribes of the Children of Israel? What do the scriptures say?
Luke 3 [8] Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Zech. 8 [23]Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
Its interesting here to find 10 men, as there were 10 scattered tribes. "in those days". A phrase to be looked into.
Ezekiel 37 [19] Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
The remnant of the 12 tribes of Israel. They are talked about in great length in the books of the prophets. They are not all Jews. But one day they all will become one stick in hand of the Lord. Is this prophecy linked to the Messianic Jew movement? In my humble opinion i believe it is. What do you think?

You can be a messianic believer and not be Jewish. The term "jew" has come to emcompass all of the 12 tribes. One can not be a messianic JEW if one is not Jewish.
I don't believe that the two house theory is bibilical.

Since your the only one to repy i guess thats what most of yas believe. You say i must be a Jew to be here. Well im not from the tribe of Judah or Levi. You say you dont believe in the 2 house {theory} ? as spoken of in Zeke, and many other places in OLD testament. Well then, i say i dont belong here either. I believe the whole bible. Have a nice day.

Wags: am I not Jewish enough for ya?
Your ethnicity has nothing to do with my question..... one can be Jewish and believe that Yeshua is the messiah and not be messianic.
Hmmm...

Elohim commanded, six days work(not five!), and rest[cease work] on the seventh.

remember 7 times 70 ?
a pastor mentioned he didn't know why so high a number, that he(the pastor) didn't think he could sin that often in many weeks.
i responded that "thank Yhwh!" for so high a number, for while i used to think i sinned a lot less, i currently realized by Yhwh's grace in His Light, that i could sin the same sin many many times in a short space of time, repenting each time then without explanation[?] repeating the sin - OY! such pain to my soul, such mercy from Elohim to keep freeing me from myself.
that's why Scripture records 7 times 70, as Yhwh breathed it - we sin so often, just don't know it until.......it is revealed.

maybe we can start over....
Let me be the first to welcome you to our corner of the forum.
We come from all different directions and have a wide variety of beliefs that we have brought with us, and we share to learn and grow together. Lovingly we give our opinions, not to be the be all end all type of answer, but a sense of level of understanding at the moment it was given. Enlightenment we look for, given in the spirit of our Lord we accept. We are bidden to search the scriptures to see if it is so. We move at our pace and with the Lord's approval.
As far as your presentation,
Isn't Messianic Jew a man made label? Yes
Must you be born a Jew to be one? Yes, but more than that you must also believe in Yeshua.
Are the Jews two tribes of the Chirldren of Israel? I do not know. Never studied the geneology.
"ten men" holding the skirts of the Jew? Who are they? It has been presented that these are the lost ten tribes. That is one concept. I see God as more dimentional that linear thinking, and thus to understand the way God thinks, I have to open up my understanding to the idea that there is more than one right answer. Like they say.... one jew three opinions.
Is this prophecy linked to the Messianic Jew movement? I do not know of any Messianic Jew movements... I am part of the Messianic Judaism movement and am a gentile. So I call myself a Messianic believer. Is the prophecy linked to the Judaism movement within the Messiah's gospel to the world,... yes... I think so. Brings to mind the prophecy.
Luke 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Whoa - slow down there a bit!! Take some time to actually READ what I posted again. I clearly said that one can be a messianic believer and not be Jewish. I NEVER said you must be a Jew to be here, I didn't even imply it.
I stand by my opinion that the two house theory isn't biblical. But since you didn't even read my post correctly, I highly doubt that you read the link I provided either. :sigh:
