sometimes I wonder why everything must be so confusing and complicated. I believe. Shouldn't that be enough? Why is there so much importance put on money?? It seems to me these days some religion is sounding more like a "get rich quick scheme." I believe that things would be better if everyone's thinking were a little more simple...like "I Believe" No complication there............:prayer:

I don't know, but I can tell you that if someone is preaching Christ as a get rich quick scheme, it is neither a new nor a true teaching.
1 Tim 6:3-6
3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain .
KJV
It occured to me to add, you are probably going to have to get used to picking your way through such teachings though. There is a spirit in this world that is against Christ, and false doctrines of many types abound. I think the reason things get confusing is that there is one out there who seeks to decieve the world, and so there are constantly different teachings.
I am often reminded of how Jacob wrestled and prevailed through perseverance.
Gen 32:24-30
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me .
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
KJV
Hang in there, okay? :)

thank for the welcome.....
I guess I need to clarify....when I said "get rich quick scheme" I was referring to tv preachers. I wasn't talking about a church that I had visited.

For them it is a "get rich quick scheme." The more people they make feel good about themselves the more people will send money their way. I don't think the TV preachers have any trouble putting food on the table. The problem is, is that there are too many who don't want to rock the boat or actually convict anyone.
