The statement, signed by Catholic Latin Patriarch, Cardinal Michel Sabbah (pictured), and leaders of the Syrian Orthodox, Episcopal and the Evangelical Lutheran churches in Jerusalem, directs its attack at a belief among some Christians that the defence of the State of Israel is in accordance with Biblical prophecy.

Amen to this article!

Does anyone have Fr. Peter Gillquist's article on this issue? He stated the very important issues, the history, and our rebuttal as Orthodox to this heresy.

Thank you.

The OO Churches recognize a valid Apostolic Succession in EO Churches, Catholic Church and in Anglican / Episcopalian / Lutheran churchers?
A valid Apistolic succession is to have valid bishops, a valid sacrament of order, so a true Eucharist.

Catholic Church recognize a valid Apostolic succession in the OO and EO Churches.

I'm mainly concerned by Syrian Church and Armenian Church.

I am confused about your question. Are you asking that the Armenian and Syrian Church recognized Apostalic Succession in regards to the CC and the EO?

Good for you guys! I am one evangelical who is very dismayed at fundamentalist Protestant Zionism. I am thankful that my church does not politically support the Zionist movement, but it often feels as if we're the only ones. While I have no specific objection to Zionism, it is not specifically prescribed in the Scriptures, and evangelicals are committing sin when they falsely claim that God commands us to support Israel. I'm very pleased to learn that many churches have taken a stand against this dangerous doctrine.

I for one am very pleased to see a Baptist oppose Christian Zionism. I pray all Protestants would follow your church's example.

As long as this thread has been bumped back up, I thought some of you might be interested in reading my pastor's sermon on the issue of Israel and Palestine (which is actually the only political sermon I've ever heard him give):

Regarding politics, his salient point is that the conflict between Israel and Palestine should be resolved on the basis of international law rather than on claims to divine right to the land of Israel.
