Lyrics:
Why are there so many
songs about Jesus
and why he was s'pposed to have died
these things are nonsense
and only illusions
on which Christians have a free ride
So they've been told and [garbled to me] and chose to believe it?
I know they're wrong wait and see
I know we'll find things through reason and science
the thinkers.. the dreamers.. and me..
I know that every wish would be unheard and unanswered
when prayed on the morning star
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it
and look what its done so far
whats so amazing
that keeps us stargazing
and what do we think we might see?
Some day we'll find it
through reason and science
the thinkers.. the dreamers.. and me..
All of us under its spell
we know that its probably nature
have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
Ive heard them just the same
is it the sweet sound from a creator
the voice might be all in your brain
I've heard it many times
and I ignore it
its just me talking to me
someday we'll find it through reason and science
the thinkers.. the dreamers.. and me..
la la la..
1 Corinthians 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

At least we got Superman. He may be Methodist, but that's still Christian!

I don't think that's really him.... compare it to a movie or commercial.. The real Kermit has more natural free flowing movements... real working legs and arms. I have no clue what he believes in.... but I think this guy is an imposter! :P

Well I certainly hope so! I love Kermit! But you did hear about how they wanted to put the HIV positive bird on Sesame Street? But then I remember the tales about Ernie and Burt which I REFUSE to believe--after all, my cousin used to and my brother sometimes still does call me Ernie after that character, I suppose.
:sigh: Erin wonders why people have to try and spoil a good thing.

Aha! I just reread the lyrics and realized that that is one of my favorite lullabies--except Kermit sings THE RAINBOW CONNECTION--this song just changed the verses. . .Kermit is vindicated!!!!

The thread is pointless without the link to the video that provides the context. You can just delete it the thread as such.

Mods, I would like you to delete RichardT from the CF database. He is an instigator of numerous diabolical schemes and even plots against the grain of all things good concerning the exposition of truth against the Muppets.

Jim Henson Muppet Creator
Was I think a Scientologist!

No, Jim Henson was a Christian Science follower. Thank God, not a scientologist.

Christian Science.... Oh man...
The following doctrines are referenced out of the primary Christian Science work,
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
It is supposed to be a companion to the Bible.
Science and Health together with the Bible are called the Pastor of Christian Science.
God is infinite...and there is no other power or source, S&H, 471:18.
God is Universal Principle, S&H 331:18-19
God cannot indwell a person, S&H 336:19-20
God is the only intelligence in the universe, including man S&H 330:11-12
God is Mind, S&H 330:20-21; 469:13
God is the Father-Mother, S&H 331:30; 332:4
The Trinity is Life, Truth, and Love, S&H 331:26
Belief in the traditional doctrine of the Trinity is polytheism, S&H 256:9-11
Christ is the spiritual idea of sonship S&H 331:30-31
Jesus was not the Christ, S&H 333:3-15; 334:3
"Jesus Christ is not God, as Jesus himself declared..." S&H 361:12-13
Jesus did not reflect the fullness of God, S&H 336:20-21
Jesus did not die, S&H 45:32-46:3
The Holy Spirit is divine science, S&H 331:31
There is no devil, S&H 469:13-17
There is no sin, S&H 447:24
Evil and good are not real, S&H, 330:25-27; 470:9-14
Matter, sin, and sickness are not real, but only illusions," S&H 335:7-15;
447:27-28.
Life is not material or organic, "S&H, 83:21
The sacrifice of Jesus was not sufficient to cleanse from sin, "S&H, 25:6.
True healings are the result of true belief, "S&H, 194:6"
Additionally, Christian Scientists prefer not to use doctors, medicine, or immunizations. Christian Science Practitioners are used to help people through the false reality of illness.
Proper prayer and training are employed to battle the "non-reality" of illness.
They have no ordinances like the Lord's Supper or baptism.
Church services are interspersed with Bible reading and readings from Science and Health.
Mary Baker Eddy is highly regarded as a revelator of God's word.

My point was, at least he has a chance with that ("Thank God, not a scientologist"). Scientology teaches that Jesus wasn't even a nice fellow. He might not have necessarily adhered to the doctrines as strictly.
Granted, it looks a bit grim, but he had more of a chance with that than with scientology.

Sounds like Christian Scientists aren't really "Christians" at all!
