The idea that we can become angels is really more based on mythology, especially Norse, where a great soldier would be invited to Valhallah... The Bible seems to always talk about angels and devils being immortal beings, unlike the natural human ones... But that's as much as I've seen on the topic.

No we arent angels. We are made a little lower than the angels yet we can be saved and Jesus came to pay the price for us...He didnt' do that for angels he just kicked them out.

John 3:6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Here I believe it is saying that we are borning humen and we die we stay humen.

1 Cor 2: 2,3
2Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?
3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?

I think the best verification of the seperation was described in this passage, we do not become angels, we become their judge. ;)

God created Angels seperate and apart from humans. The word Angels mean messanger. They have been described in the Bible as spirits that help mankind. God made angels and he made mankind. To say that men turn into angels would presuppose that in the beginning there was death where men have died and became angels. We know that this would be incorrect since there was no death before sin came into the world, yet there WAS ANGELS. :)
