Me & Barb are gonna start playin' Wheel of Medicine. We're gonna rig a wheel up encircled by the names of all our doctors. Each day, we'll give that pup a spin, and whichever doctor it lands on, that's the one we will see that day.

We'll call in Sajak to host and maybe Vanna to point to the doctor it lands on.

We've already hit "Bankrupt" several times, as a result of landing on too many doctors. Lose A Turn will be great! We won't go see a Doctor! Whoopiee!

In the bonus round, the winner will have a chance to spin for the surgeon. We hope we don't win that one.

We won't be able to afford to buy an "e". All our vowel money's done been spent on the docs we landed on.

Come to think of it, ya' know? We done been playing this game already, just didn't have the crazy wheel to do it with!

Why so many doctors? Do you both have cancer or something?

I've been thinking of seeing a doctor for a physical, check my cholesterol and stuff like that. I went in 2000 one when I had the flu real bad but didn't have any tests done or an exam. Maybe you could get health insurance. I know lots of people with it and they go to doctors all the time and take tons of prescription medications and none have filed bankruptcy yet.

Sounds like it's time to do some of your own doctoring and diagnosing. Not that you have to smuggle drugs or google "self-surgery". But you can do an awful lot of reading and research by yourself. I know this because I diagnosed my own rheumatoid arthritis several months before any docor had the faintest clue what was wrong with me. When one finally did give me that dx I was like "no kidding!"

www.WebMD.com (http://www.WebMD.com) is a good place to start for information about health conditions. Everything is in layman's terms.
There is health insurance for those who can't afford it. Your state's dept of social services is a place to start to find out how to qualify. At least they can point you in the right direction.
I know all too well the cost of health care. People paying cash actually are charged more than what the insurance companies are charged for the same service. There is something so not right about that.
You're in my prayers. :prayer:

Thanks, guys, for being easier on me than they were in Golden Eagles. I thought that would be a funny post. Actually, we don't have that many doctors, but it amazes me the number of health problems we all get when we get so old. My left eye is nearly swollen shut this a.m., and I've already talked with my opthalmologist. He thinks it is allergies, and told me what to try. If it is no better by Monday, a.m., he said to come on in. Before I forget, in all my shock from that other forum, thanks for your prayers. They are needed.

I was kicked pretty hard by some fanatics over on Golden Eagles, but they missed the whole point. It was all just tongue in cheek humor. One post was so insulting, I had to report it!

Someone please hit me over the head with a skillet the next time I try to post something "funny".

Oh, also, I have left that other forum, and am here for keeps. Guess you'll have to put up with me, "sick" humor and all.;)

God bless your day,

Tony

I would be thinking sinus infection on the eye thing, because it is only one eye. My granddaughter had a pretty bad sinus infection a few years ago. Whole side of her face was swollen and red.
Now I on the other hand have allergies. I woke up this morning with swelling in my face, neck and ears. Usually if one eye is swollen, then both are for me. I am on antihistimines, but the non-drowsy, so it only works partly.

Do you have something that you know you are allergic to? Any allergy problems in the past?

Off to church for me.

:) As my mom says, you gotta see positive/humor in situations are you will go nuts. :)
You sound like my parents who even with health insurance, hates going to the doctor cause of various reasons. My mom said she was fine till she hit 30 and it was downhill after that but she keeps a positive attitude even though she has several health issues. :)

Hi, folks-

I do have numerous allergies, rainbowpromise. I'm allergic to mountain cedar pollen, and more. Just last week, my throat was so sore, I thought I was taking strep! It was fine the next a.m., so allergies again. We have horrible pollen and allergens in this area, in fact, it is near the worst area in the nation for allergies, and the worst in the state of Texas! I really know where to move for my health!:D

Your mom is so right, Red. That's what I was attempting to do. We were in the grocery store shopping, and that crazy thing came to me. I originally thought of using a spin the bottle type thing, but then I thought of the Wheel of Fortune on TV, and thought that would be funnier. Some of my country boy humor misses the mark sometimes, but hopefully, most will get it and not think I'm from Mars.

We truly do start seeing problems after about 30, Red, so true. Barb's late cousin's husband had a T-shirt that read: "Growing old ain't for sissies!" Right on again!:D

While I'm here, please pray for Barb. She has had the return of back pain and nerve "jumps" for the first time in two years. It had been in remission for that long. Underneath my humor lies worry and depression about both of us now. My teeth and eyes, now her back. We both need to see doctors at the same time. Well, back to spin that wheel again.:D

Howdy, lucypevensie! Thanks! Yep, it was just some silly juice going through my brain, and thought I would stick it up on the boards for folks to read.

I got those allergy drops and they did help! But the things kinda dilate the eye, so that's a small problem. I have dry eye deluxe, and the eye is already feeling dry again. I've tried lots of eye drops. I have been taking Cod liver oil, and at first, it really did help, but now, I'm not as sure about it.

But, anyway, getting back to the subject, I'm glad you enjoyed my crazy post. Gotta laugh at this stuff some time, or lose control!:D

And thanks for those prayers too, Lucy. We can use them about now.

God bless,

Tony
