View Full Version : Is TAW going to die?

It seems as if everyone on TAW has moved on to the "Orthodox Circle" thingy. Is it just me, or does TAW seem a little dead?
BTW, why is that Orthodox Circle site so addictive?

I'm not sure, but I hope it doesn't die out! This is a great resource for people. It may seem a little dead here because for most of the day, the site was down.

Ya, the site was down most of the day today.. probably that's why it seemed so "dead". However, i thought it was kinda dead yesterday too.. ah, i dunno. We will see what happens.. i would hate to see TAW die out.

100% of the conversations in the TAW group are about the fact that CF was broken. I highly doubt that TAW will die. It's past midnight in my neck of the woods, it's a weekend, too, and many people are probably doing other things right now.
If you look at the "Non-denominational" thread, you'll notice that only about 5 or 6 threads have been responded to since the site was brought back online.
No need to worry, my Canadian friend.

I just noticed a new option, the "multi-quote" option between the "quote" and "reply" buttons. Hmm, I wonder what it does?

I going to stay here...of course...I'm not Orthodox...so maybe y'all don't want me here...but I'm hanging out here none the less...

TAW will never die.
I do spend time in the "orthodox circle" but I prefer chatting in here.
It is easier and quicker.
There is the chat feature on "Orthodox circle" but that is rarely busy. So if I wish to talk, it will usually be on here.

It is so that you can select multiple posts to quote, then click on "post reply" as normal and you can post more than one quote in a post.

Is TAW going to die ?
I for one hope not. Look at all those we have witnessed to and provided the opportunity for the truth to be manifest. I'm thinking that OC could be a EO refuge where we could gather in privacy and regroup when necessary, much like OC.net was in the days of TMBTSNBN.

I love the chat on Orthodox Circle. Sure, sometimes it's not busy, but just about everytime I've logged on, there has been at least one or two people.

What's the Orthodox Circle?
It's like an Orthodox MySpace, and a lot of the TAW members have joined it.

I certainly hope it doesn't die. Since I have not yet started attending an Orthodox church lately, I can't join Orthodox Circle so this is my main place to come and find out stuff when I have a question for the time being.

It won't die. There are enough of us who dont care about more online things who stick around here, and plus ppl love a new toy but tire of it eventually. Ask away!

I tried to join but the confirmation mail I received that was supposed to have the activate account link came empty. I'm thinking perhaps this is a hint that joining would be a bad idea (too much time on the net) so I'll stick to just TAW :)

It's too bad a lot of you are deciding to leave. CF will lose some of its wonderful diversity if you guys go away. I've been enriched by your presence.

I don't think they are really leaving, they are just trying out another website in addition to CF.

Mine was the same. Just manually go to www.orthodoxcircle.com and click on the join now button in the center of the pic, then enter the password.

The link will only work if your browser already has it's OC authentication cached (and the particulars of that are a bit of HTTP black magic). If you are not logged in to OC, log in and with the same browser window go back to TAW and follow the link again.

I am a registered member there.
I just am overwhelmed by that site.
CF is much simpler.

Well, we only have 24 hrs to spend each day; if we're living normal lives we can spend only an hour or two at the computer, so there is a practical limit to how much time we can spend at a given site or forum.
On a separate note, I would use the same username wherever I go, unless I had a darn good reason for hiding my identity. It's just too confusing when people change their user IDs like some women change their hair color.

I like OC, but generally only go there with all that EXTRA spare time I find in my day.
I come to TAW first to catch up, learn, and share. OC has been a fun place to just "hang out," but I find I spend more time here. Judging by how long the "who broke CF" thread ran on OC, the people there were WANTING to be here!

TAW will never die.
I agree Photini. The only way it would die is if rules were made that persecuted us such as that brief "one true church rule". I was genuinely worried that would kill TAW. But the rule was removed with a few hours.
