View Full Version : CF is back and running the latest version of the software...

Took me all night, but it's finally done. I had a bug that I had to spend the past 2 hours trying to fix, but it's fixed!
There are definitely bound to be bugs, so please report them IN THIS THREAD so I can fix them.
Also, the old warning system and user notes have been removed, and the new yellow card (warning), red card (infraction) will be in place, once I figure out how to get it up and running.
The appeal system should still be in place but obviously the rules will be changed. In essence, only red cards (infractions) can be appealed - yellow cards are merely warnings. If you watch football (soccer) you'll how that works. This system comes default with the software and should not have any bugs with it.
Thanks for your patience all!

I've got a bug...
Every once in a while when I post a message pops up saying...
Thank you for posting...your post will be visible once a moderator approves it...or something like that.
And then my post shows up.
Other than that...everything is great Erwin...thanks! :D

Another weird bug.
When I click ANNOUNCEMENTS - all the threads are dated ... 2005, 2004
The only way I can get into this thread is because it was most recently accessed.
MariaRegina
26th August 2006, 12:36 AM
Now, the threads are all current in ANNOUNCEMENTS.
It seems like a momentary glitch.

(1) This is new --
THE REPORT BUTTON
is now available for me to report my own post.
Is that another glitch?
(2) I cannot view warnings/infractions. There is no option for that in the CF CONTROL PANEL.
(3) Will we be able to report abusive PMs soon? The FORWARD button is not reliable as an unethical sender can modify a FORWARDED PM.
MariaRegina
26th August 2006, 12:45 AM
Now the REPORT BUTTON is not displaying in my post. GUESS I SPOKE TOO SOON.
It's back.

I cannot post in the graphics version. It works on the 'pda' version but not on the graphics version. I tried doing all the things suggested by Erwin earlier in this thread but I still have the same problem.
Basically, if I switch to graphics with my Privacy settings down to 'medium high', I get the box with "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down". It then shuts down. If I manage not to get that box coming up, I am unable to post because, after typing a message and submitting it, the message comes up: "You have to type at least one character to post", and my post gets deleted. Most of the time (9/10 times) the box comes up which closes internet explorer down, altogether.
However, if I switch to the graphics version with my Privacy setting up to 'High', I am able to look at all the threads and the forum but, obviously, I am not able to log-in or post. This leads me to conclude that the Forum software is blocking out my personal cookies when I am in the graphics version. Why is that? Have I been banned?
Posting in the pda version means that I am handicapped to a certain extent since it does not allow me to quote other people's posts and I am unable to edit my own posts. I am also unable to post links. And I cannot post smillies, although you do not have a smillie which demonstrates how I feel about this.

The new quotes in replies (with link to the original) is very cool indeed. Thanks!
One question, though: it looks as though there are three buttons at the bottom of each message, which all do the same thing: "Quote", the little square icon with a quotation mark, and "Reply".
If they all do the same thing, would it be possible to remove two of them, just to clean up the interface a bit?

Try a different browser like Firefox. If that works, then it's the other browser - for some reason you have a corrupted cookie which needs to be deleted and you have to log in again. I really don't know what else to recommend.
