View Full Version : Your CF Character and You

How many here actually look somewhat reasonably like their CF Character? I do, when I've gone unshaven a few days, but I need to add glasses. I bought and equipped a pair of dark-rimmed glasses, but my character doesn't show them. I wonder what's wrong?

Of course, it needs glasses and I have bought them from the armory, but they are a special item and we can only put up 3 at a time.

I'm rounder, my face is longer, and my eyes are smaller. The hair's about right though on a good day. Eric, the day you saw me at the Assembly was not a good day. Vanity of vanities...
Apart from your face being a bit longer and being a bit more clean shaven, if I remember right, your character is a pretty good likeness.

All the CF Characters are anorexic-looking (except for the faces), so it's the rare person who isn't a bit fatter than their CF characters. :)

The glasses look ugly. I think I'm going to unequip them. I removed my facial hair and got the dainty eyebrows (the closest pick for my thin graying ones), but I looked too strange, so the scruffy look is back.

I more than a bit fatter.
Last I checked I was 6 feet tall and tipped the scales at about 250 lbs. That isn't even close to the little waif-like dolly. I'd probably eat her for breakfast with a little jam and a cup of coffee. ^_^

I'm 5'almost 9". And I'm too vain to tell my weight. My 5yo daughter is a head taller than the other girls her age and I'm thinking she may reach 6' or more. I wasn't as tall as she at that age. I hope she doesn't slump like I do. It's not just because I'm tall, but because when I was 12 I spent a month in the hospital in traction flat on my back and lost all my muscle tone. Then I had a heavy cast on my arm which I rested in my lap. So my posture stinks.

Your character is the model of will-power. I've been watching that plate of baklava, and he hasn't eaten a single one!
My wife and I went to the Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant at its new Addison location 148XX Inwood, just south of Beltline Road. It was as good as or better than any Ethiopian food we've had, whether here or in Washington, D.C., including the previous Queen of Sheba. It was her birthday, and they gave us both free baklava for dessert. Yummy!! (we were already stuffed, but "managed" to eat the baklava - topped with strawberries and whipped cream and a candle)
Unless you don't like curry, you must eat there, esp. if you've never had Ethiopian. We ordered the lamb combo and the chicken combo, each of which comes with several different vegetable dishes, and all served on their spongy whole wheat bread/pancake that you use to eat the food with (no silverware). I couldn't eat it every day, but a couple times a year is fun!

That sounds wonderful, we'll have to check it out. I love Indian and Lebanese food - sounds pretty similar. We live in Weatherford, which is pretty far west of there and don't get to the Dallas area very often though. I'll have to check out what's playing at the Inwood Theater and see if we can spare the gas - killing two birds (Orthocat is drooling now) with one stone makes me feel less guilty.

I'd think there'd be an Ethiopian restaurant in the FW area. They're all quite similar, at least that's been our experience. We've never been to a bad one, but some have been better than others. The one in Washington, D.C., where we sat on the pillows on the floor was probably our least favorite, though (it's in the Adams Morgan area, as I recall, where there are several others; the one at the east end of Georgetown was great, too).
I've twice had their honey wine, but it's too sweet for meals; more a dessert drink. I'd stick with water or beer with dinner.
But ... no such luck, it appears:
We've also eaten at either Abyssinia or Fasika, I think - they're near each other. It was great, too.

These two cuisines may seem quite different, and, well, they are. The connection comes from the fact that in the 19th and early 20th centuries, Ethiopia was continually fighting Italian occupancy. Well, I suppose the major difference between me and my character is that I'm more likely to wield a katana instead of nunchucks... ^_^
My hair is different--my hair is light brown, long, and wavy-curly. It has a tendency to be frizzy, so I usually wrap it up in a bun or ponytail. It was difficult finding a hair that would go under my helmet, though.
But, I am as thin and waif-like as my character. :D Sorry, y'all.

I know, that was the first thing that came into my mind as well...

I tried to make my character look like my perception of myself. My picture was taken before becoming Orthodox, so I have toned things down a bit. No more hair color and not as much make-up.
God Bless :)

My character looks pretty much like me. I don't own an outfit like the one she's wearing, but I am fond of the color pink. And my hair isn't really yellow.

Quite a bit, I regularly go about in armor with a sword and Roman shield.
Yes, I'm kidding.

I decided a few days ago to change out the old white suit for something I more commonly wear. Oh, and I changed my eyes because my last eye style was a little off, and it didn't allow me to have glasses.
I rarely carry my Byzantine shield or shaleleigh, but you never know when you might need 'em. I typically wear brown low-top Chucks, but since that wasn't an option, I thought I'd color-coordinate with my striped polo. I usually wear slimmer-fitting boot cut jeans, too. But they weren't an option (CF has no fasion sense).
I typically wear brown, blue, yellow, and green. I only have one black piece of clothing. And except that I have sideburns and ears you can see, and that my head isn't quite so squatty, my profile character looks pretty darn close now.

How many here actually look somewhat reasonably like their CF Character? I do, when I've gone unshaven a few days, but I need to add glasses. I bought and equipped a pair of dark-rimmed glasses, but my character doesn't show them. I wonder what's wrong?
I look almost exaclty like my character, but socks with clogs was not an option.

...I was thinking where's nutroll hanging about? hehe
I don't think I look anything like my character. I have some asian features which I tried to include, but the eyes are just way too big. I do have very long hair, and sometimes I leave it unbraided. Most of the time I have a single long braid, but on CF there isn't a brown braid for purchase (R-r-russian style! :P ), so I got this hair. I'm 5'4", not quite as thin, but still, and have glasses. Tried to include glasses into my CF character, but they don't go with the slanted eyes.
Great thread!

Ditto about the hair...I usually wear it in a long back braid, but the only braid available is black.

Heh, heh...
Guess I went "newbie crazy" at first, since at this point, the only thing that's the same about my CF character from the first rendition of him is the face/facial hair.
This is pretty much me, actually, sans the shield. You can click the camara to the side to see an actual photo.

I'm here, I just got back from an out of state wedding and an installation. I don't understand why my name would come up in a thread about CF characters though....

... so... um... not to offend or anything... do you take your banana suit off when you go to bed? Or is it hard to sit down on a couch? Just curious. :)

Haha ^_^
I think he wears it when he goes to bed. It may just get too cold without it.

The banana suit doesn't pose nearly as much of a problem as the bicycle.

I don't know about you, but I give Nutroll tons of credit for creating the one character on TAW with a peel.
