What do you think of all these sightings of Mary and Jesus?

That's funny, I saw him in my rice krispies. Do you think it has something to do with the rice? ;)

Honestly, I don't know what to think of apparitions and bleeding statues and things like that. Is it a sign? Is it a sign maybe people are reading too much into?

Odd that it tends to not have happened much in the anabaptist community...unless someone knows something I don't?

Out here it is almost exclusively a Catholic thing. One can only wonder if it's something in their religious training. The rest of us don't seem to be seeing visions & apparitions - but then we don't expect to either.

I just don't pay enough attention to what goes in my mouth to notice anything that resembles Jesus or Mary or Big Bird or anything else.

I always want to say, "So what" when I see things like this.

Jesus's face outlined in rust on the side of a silo? So what.

Mary's face on a toasted cheese sandwich? So what.

Jesus's face in the frost on the window of a funeral home? So what.

I think these things are all about people wanting so desperately to connect with Jesus that they see his face everywhere. Personally, I think they could look like any face or any woman, but others see Jesus and Mary because they want to.

It's interesting that I saw an article in Slovakia that was about some Muslims who saw Muhammed's face in a rock formation, and they were chastised by the leader of their community for looking at an image of the prophet, which is a sin to them.
