I earn enough interest on my blessings to give them away. I do periodically for different reasons but now I would like to try something. Twice a week I will quote someone here and give 25 blessings to whoever guesses it first. I will post these on different days and different times to allow a fair chance to everyone. I will start with an easy one. I ask that you not use search engines or anti-plagiarism programs please.

Well I have it attributed to someone else. But sure enough according to quotable quotes George Marshall is responsible for the quote. Blessings are on the way. (I wonder why they have two attributions on this one)

Because sometimes popular tradition makes it a fact. I know that the guy at Boystown USA is credited with the phrase "there is no such thing as a bad boy", but it was actually Floyd Starr who said it first and use it as a motto for his boys camp long before :) But because of the movies said Father Flanagan said it it became known as his saying . . .

Perhaps he was quoting someone else?

That's possible but if he did he didn't attribute it, which would have been out of character. Perhaps he didn't realize he was quoting someone else? You know had it in the back of his mind for a while and confused it with orginal thought? Oh well doesn't really make much difference now.

I'm not sure if you are joking here or not. Yes there was a Peter Marshall who hosted Hollywood squares but it was not the same Peter Marshall.

A young man who wishes to remain a sound Atheist cannot be too careful of his reading. There are traps everywhere--'Bibles laid open, millions of surprises,' as Herbert says, 'fine nets and stratagems.' God is, if I may say it, very unscrupulous. --C.S. Lewis
