Almost everything written by C.S. Lewis would be a good place to look. I especially am inspired by "Mere Christianity"

Hello, sorry to pop in on the topic, but I was also wondering, what about edifying books specificially about Anglican faith? (as opposed to just generally spiritual books written by authors who happen to be Anglicans?)

Thanks! I have some of his novels. I will have to read his religious writing as well.

A great book I am reading right now is Anglican Spirit by the former Archbishop of Canterbury Michael Ramsey.

Its short (about 130 pages) but has lots of detail in it about various aspects of Anglicanism. However, its also written in a conversational tone (its based on a series of lectures he gave) so its good for a casual read as well.

Heaps of great books by anglicans.
There is one there by Mike Raiter called "Spirituality" or something - I have heard very very good things about it, and it is on my must purchase list... a rather extensive list.

It depends on where you are on your Christian journey. What you read as a new Christian is different to what you read as someone more mature in their faith. :)

For edifying spirituality - why not try praying the psalm as in moning prayer or evening prayer?

A wonderful book is 'Chasing the Dragon' by Jackie Pullinger. She went to Hong Kong as a young woman, and worked among heroin addicts and triad gangs, bringing the transforming power of Jesus Christ into their lives.

It is a very specific topic sort of book, but "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" is an awesome book on baptism written by Bishop Sutton.
