I have been searching for a church home for a couple of years. I was brought up Roman Catholic, but have been wandering for a while. I have been to a variety of Protestant services, but I missed the liturgical worship. I have been thinking of going to an Episcopal parish. There are many around and I need to pick one to visit.

I agree, visit a few parishes a few times.

I found my first parish to visit. It seems conservative, which I am. I am learning it is an affiliate of the American Anglican Council. Does anyone know about this group?

EDITED: Sorry, I posted in error. I thought that the American Anglican Council was in schism with ECUSA but had I bothered to look it up I would have found that it is in fact a movement with in ECUSA. (Thanks to plaid_pixie for pointing this out, albeit indirectly.)

If that's the case then they are not part of the Anglican Communion and it is an open question whether or not they could be regarded Anglican as for the catholic churches, one as not merely an 'affiliate' of a denomination but a part of a broader church, through the hierarchy.
then you deny that the episcooal church is part of the anglican communion?
edit: perhaps, saepius, we should continue this in pms, rather than change the thread?

Yes, they are the orthodox group of churches and dioceses in TEC. Here is there website (http://www.americananglican.org/site/c.ikLUK3MJIpG/b.551235/k.CBA8/Home.htm). There is also the Anglican Communion Network (http://www.acn-us.org/) and if you look around that site there are some "Common Cause" partnerships with some continuing groups as well.
Also, just as a side not - you can visit continuing parishes as well as AMiA, ICCEC, CEEC, APGS, TAC, ACiA or other conservative Anglican groups. The beauty of Anglicanism is the diversity of its worship styles...it just takes some time to get all those acronyms straight!
Best of luck to you brother (a fellow ex-Roman).
