i want it in the background, but when I equipped it, it covered my character's head. Is it possible to have it in the bg?

you can equip it as your third special item to make it appear in the background.

Oh, OK. Another question: Is there a way to specify which hand holds the Bible? Because when I equipped it, it went into my sword hand and hoovered over my sword

Each item only equips in one way. However, there is another bible in the Shields category that is held in the other hand.
