View Full Version : Relief in Lebanon?

ZiSunka

As a group, do we want to do anything for the relief effort in Lebanon?

Here are a couple of links to click that will provide free food and Bibles for people in southern Lebanon during this terrible time:

www.thehungersite.com
http://www.thebiblesite.org/

Maybe we could all make a commitment to click these two links every day until there is a lasting ceasefire.

I think this is a great idea.

IMO way too many Christians are getting all wound up about how this fits into some supposed end times prediction rather than being Jesus' hands and feet to those people in need.

Well done sister..............

This is crazy--I click and someone gets free stuff? Seems legit...

I've been doing the hungersite thing for about 5 years, and I've never been asked for a thing.

The Bible site, I just found.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Companies sponsor the site and the food plus the shipping. For every click, sponsoring companies pay 15 cents US to the website, which sends the money to organizations such as Feed the Children, World Food Programme, Mercy Corps, and Second Harvest. Those organizations feed the hungry.

When you click at http://www.theliteracysite.com you support organizations such as mine that encourage children in poor communities to love reading. Those clicks send 15 cents to First Book, which sends me books to give to kids on the rez and at food pantries.

It's all paid for by the advertisers of the websites.

Clicked again & happy to keep on clicking. Thanks for the explanation as I'm pretty passionate myself about books & that kids love reading. How else can they really have the word of God for themselves?

We can also pray for all the poor souls both sides caught up in this human mess.
When war happens people suffer terribly not just from simple hunger but from trauma, from fear, from uncertainty, hatred, from viewing others as no longer human but things to be destroyed....it is terrible.

Is this an icecream? Shaved ice with syrup poured over? icy-pole? Now watch me go  .

It's an icy drink, more liquid than solid, sorta like shaved ice but not as coarse, dispensed from a machine in all sorts of flavors-I sorta prefer the pepsi or coke flavor myself-great on hot days!
