I was wondering if we could post Pro-Israel internet links on this thread... Solid, factual links perferably.

Lately I've talked with some in the Christian community who are very Anti-Israel "Israel is the agressor, they stole land, they deserve to be driven into the sea, etc" and they claim those who support Israel are blind, fanatical, bais, and emotionally driven to see their religious beliefs prevail.

Now, I know that people will see only what they want to see. Those who secretly harbor Anti-Jewish feelings will take this opertunity (the current fighting) to bash Jews. They pull 'facts' from various sources (mostly Arabic Muslim propaganda and European Anti-Semetic literature) to support their side.

They claim Israel is committing 'war crimes' when, in fact, it is the complete reverse. Etc, etc...

I thought it would be good to gather some good reference material... So, when we are presented with Anti-Israel "facts" we have solid facts to counter them with. Probably, they will not have a change of heart concerning Jews... but at least they will have no where else to go with their false accusations.

The problem with the media in general is that news is given without context. This leaves the responsiblity to the audience to be properly educated about what's happening in the world. For example the simple statement "Hezbollah conducted a cross border attack in which several Israeli soldiers were taken captive, then Israel started bombing Lebannon killing (insert #) of "innocent" civilians, compared to only (insert#) of israeli casulties. Oh and hezbollah was created after Israel occupied Lebannon." On the surface Israel looks like the obvious bad guy, but not everyone hears about how Hezbollah like to place their rocket launchers and command posts directly within proximity of civilian population centers. To further complicate things is the fact of people's political and religious affliations, or lack thereof which skew people's opinions immediately. A girl, who is a leftest, that works with my Mom says, "oh, I'm against what Israel is doing." Now, I know for a fact she knows little to nothing about Middle Eastern politics, culture, and civilization, but she's happy to join the political bandwagon in opposition against Israel. (note: the same could be said for uneducated rightwinger's who blindly support anything Israel does) I think the simplest arguement is what if terrorists started lobbing missiles over at the US from Mexico. What would our response be? It's easy to sit back, like secular Europe does on a daily basis, and critisize self righteously the actions of Israel, but I would submit their response would be quite different would they be wearing the shoes of Isreal at this moment. Context is key.

Yehoshua- Yeah, I'm looking for links that will put the situation in it's proper context. Something that will counter the Anti-Israel "facts"...

I'm noticing that all across the board people are taking sides on the issue. It is dividing and uniting people in an odd way- sort of sifting everyone out... Liberals and Conservatives are leaving their traditional party lines and siding with their 'enemies' over support for (or condemnation of) Israel. It's happening within the Christian world as well.

I wonder what will happen in the US if we elect people in office who will pull us out of Iraq and cut off support for Israel. Hum...

Sometimes www.israelnn.com (Arutz Sheva) is a very good source. I remember a couple of years ago when the arabs were claiming several battered Jewish boys and girls as their own (after they, themselves had beaten them and stoned them!!!) were proved as wrong through Arutz Sheva first and no one believed it until JPost and Haaretz Daily and a couple of others picked up on it.

Arutz Sheva I have found during the expulsion were the only men/women on the ground accurately reporting things too. They were also on the scene during the terrible beatings in Amona and have been able to get several people on trial for their brutality.

I can't think of anyone else off the bat.
