I'm okay. This bird flu is pretty awful though. Almost as bad as the swine flu epidemic that hit the US in 1977. ;)

Rush L. talks about the "drive-by media"--they take a bit of news and hose down the audience with a bunch of partial stories and bits of truth, exaggerate, then drive off leaving the listeners/readers/watchers bewildered.

you know, I was going to add that Rush can count himself as part of that genre...but then I had to be honest with myself and admit that I've never actually watched a Rush Limbaugh show so I wouldn't know.........;)

I listen at lunch everyday from 12-12:30. It gives another perspective on things.

There's not much else to listen to and "progressive/liberal" talk doesn't tend to work well, though there was a guy on for a while last summer that I thought was pretty fair minded but guess he got dropped. Can't remember the name.

I can't listen to too much NPR either. All they do is whine about how everything is crappy because people don't understand the Democrats. I'm not political nor do I belong to a political party, but there's only so much whining about, "Why can't things be more like I want them to be" that I can take. Unfortunately, Rush does the same thing only substitutes the word Republican for Democrat.

It's interesting to watch the politicos go at it. He's been talking for a year about the self-destructing democratic party and he thinks the Lieberman defeat yesterday is a big sign of how bad things have gotten for them.

I keep an eye on politics like I keep an eye on football scores like I keep an eye on weather forecasts.

I think the dems are so out of touch with Americans and what's going on with them that they are going to be hard pressed to win elections.

I think the reps are dangerously close to that same position.

It doesn't matter much anyway, they are just trying to scare you...I am not too concerned about it.
