Another terrors group! Will Egypt crush this group or be like Lebanon and allow it to work from its country & shoot rockets into Israel. --- Saturday, August 5, 2006 CAIRO,--- Egypt - Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader said in a new videotape aired Saturday that an Egyptian militant group has joined the terror network. It was the first time that al-Qaida has announced a branch in Egypt, the Arab world's most populous nation. The Egyptian group, Gamaa Islamiya, is apparently a revived version of a militant group of the same name that waged a campaign of violence in Egypt during the 1990s but was crushed in a government crackdown.&quot; We announce to the Islamic nation the good news of the unification of a great faction of the knights of the Gamaa Islamiya ... with the al-Qaida group,&quot; Ayman al-Zawahri said in the videotape aired on the Al-Jazeera news network.Al-Zawahri, who is Egyptian, said the Egyptian group was led by Mohammed al-Islambouli, the younger brother of Khaled al-Islambouli, the militant who assassinated Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat in 1981 and was later executed. The video included a statement by Mohammed al-Hakayma, identified as another top leader of the revived Gamaa. Al-Hakayma was shown talking in a grove of palm trees.&quot;A large number of the brothers have decided who are still on the same genuine path of Gamaa Islamiya and its principles, headed by the holy warrior Mohammed al-Islambuli, decided to unite with al-Qaida, considering it one of the most important seekers of jihad (holy war) of this era,&quot; al-Hakayma said.Mohammed al-Islambouli left Egypt in the mid-1980s and was believed to have been in Afghanistan working with al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, said Diaa Rashwan, an Egyptian expert on militant groups. It was not clear how much of a following the new version of Gamaa Islamiya has in Egypt. Its previous incarnation was largely eliminated by the government crackdown, and its leaders later announced a truce from prison. It has not claimed any attacks since a 1997 attack on a pharaonic site in the southern city of Luxor that killed 58 foreign tourists and four Egyptians.Rashwan said al-Zawahri's claim was likely just propaganda.&quot; This is media talk from Ayman al-Zawahri. The Gamaa Islamiya has its own leadership and they said they have already rejected joining al-Qaida in the past,&quot; he said. &quot;Gamaa Islamiya has no command outside Egypt. They have dissolved in Egypt.&quot;Egypt has seen a string of terror bombings against tourist resorts in the Sinai Peninsula since October 2004, killing 98 people. Egyptian authorities have said those attacks were carried out by a group calling itself Monotheism and Jihad, with links to Palestinian militants. Many experts believe Monotheism and Jihad is inspired by al-Qaida and may have some operational links, but the Egyptian government has not announced any connection. The excerpts of the video played by Al-Jazeera did not mention any imminent threats of attacks in Egypt. In the video, al-Zawahri wore a white turban and was in front of a plain black background.Al-Zawahri was once a member of Islamic Jihad, the other main Egyptian militant group that led violence in the 1990s alongside the original Gamaa Islamiya. In the late 1990s, he moved to Afghanistan and joined forces with bin Laden, bringing a number of Egyptian militants with him.In the video, al-Hakayma, wearing glasses and holding an automatic weapon, said former members had decided to revive the group and rejected their jailed leaders' adherence to a truce. He vowed loyalty to Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, Gamaa's former leader who is in a U.S. prison after his 1995 conviction in a conspiracy to blow up New York City landmarks.Al-Hakayma was once a &quot;second tier&quot; leader of the original Gamaa, Montasser al-Zayat, an Islamist lawyer who once represented many militants in court, told Al-Jazeera.It was al-Zawahri's second message in just over a week and his 11th this year. The Egyptian-born militant appeared in a video on July 27 in which he called for Muslims to unite in a holy war against Israel and to join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza.</p>

Sunday, August 6, 2006 CAIRO, Egypt - An Egyptian militant group denied on Sunday that it had joined al-Qaida, saying the majority of its members were sticking by a truce with the government declared almost a decade ago.Ayman Al-Zawahri, al-Qaida's No. 2 leader, said in a videotape aired Saturday that al-Gamaa al-Islamiya had joined the terror network. It was the first time that al-Qaida has announced a branch in Egypt, the Arab world's most populous nation."Al-Gamaa al-Islamiya is strong and solid and not affected at all by nonsense here or there," Karam Zohdy, one of the group's most senior leaders, said on Al-Jazeera news network."What Ayman al-Zawahri has said is sheer fabrication and lying," Zohdy said.Al-Gamaa al-Islamiya, or Islamic Group, was once the largest Egyptian militant group. It waged a campaign of violence during the 1990s but was crushed in a government crackdown.Al-Zawahri, who is Egyptian, said the groups were joining "in one front facing their enemies in the most imperious crusade carried out against Islam in all its history."In a statement posted on al-Gamaa al-Islamiya's Web Site on Sunday, the group said it "flatly denies what Ayman al-Zawahri had said about it joining al-Qaida." The statement was signed by the group's leaders who spent more than 20 years behind bars for their roles in assassinating President Anwar Sadat in 1981.They were released after they promised to renounce violence and expressed regret for their bloody past. The group, which tried to overthrow the government, announced a cease-fire in 1997.

A TEXAN A FRENCHMAN AND AN ISRAELI

A Texan, a Frenchman and an Israeli are on a plane flying over the Pacific Ocean when the engines stop functioning. The plane crash lands on a Pacific Island and the 3 are immediately captured by a tribe of cannibals and taken to their village.
The Chief tells the 3 captives that these cannibals are civilized and they have a custom on their island that before they eat anyone, they grant that person his or her last wishes?no matter what they are.
He asks the Texan, "What is your last wish?" The Texan replies: "I want a 2 inch thick steak with all the trimmings, Cajun fries and a case of Bud." The Chief motions to some of his tribesmen who immediately run into the jungle and come back with the steak, the fries and the beer. The Texan eats his meal and he is thrown in the pot.
The Frenchman is asked: "What is your last wish?" He replies: "I'd like a case of Dom Perignon and I'd also like a big plate of escargots cooked in the French manner." The Chief motions to his tribesmen who immediately rush off into the jungle and bring back everything the Frenchman asked for. He eats and drinks his fill, and he is then thrown in the pot.
The Chief turns to the Israeli and asks, "And what is your wish?" The Israeli looks the Chief squarely in the eyes and replies: "I want you to kick me in the behind as hard as you can." The Chief is bewildered and asks the Israeli again, only to receive the same reply. "I want you to kick me in the behind as hard as you can."
The Chief shrugs his shoulders, asks the Israeli to turn around, and kicks him as hard as he can. With that the Israeli pulls out a gun and kills the Chief and all of the other cannibals.
The Texan and the Frenchman get out of the pot, look at the Israeli and say: "If you had that gun why didn't you do anything sooner?"
The Israeli replies: "What? And risk being condemned by the UN, EU and the State Department for 'overreacting' to insufficient provocation?"
