July 24 - Israel: The Eye of the Storm

Talking with World Net Daily editor Joseph Farah on air over the
weekend, the both of us were intrigued that a nation the size of New Jersey
and it's neighbor, Lebanon, the size of Rhode Island, could be causing the
world's media to focus on the area 24/7.

Since the media have no particular
Biblical knowledge, why the attention? Something is drawing them to the
"center of the earth" as the Bible calls the Middle East. Even when there is
no blatant conflict, there are more journalists stationed in Israel than in
any other nation.

There are other wars raging where thousands more are victims but the media
pays them little attention and only focuses on the current Middle East
conflict. Other news items of the day are not even reported. One has to
wonder if there is something in the Heavenlies causing the world to focus on
this tiny speck on the map.

Now we learn that Ariel Sharon may pass away in the coming days and when he
does the world's diplomats will rush to Jerusalem for a funeral. Again, all
eyes on Israel as some of the world's kings, presidents, prime ministers,
and more, make their way to God's land.

I believe they know the basics;.

1)Such as 666, end of the world, Jesus return, Israel the focus point. After all a lot of people have gone to Sunday school.

2) This could escalate into something much bigger.

3) Absolutely; in the Heavenlies causing the world to focus on this tiny speck on the map.

I believe that many people (even non-religious people) instinctively know that the conflict in the Middle East is much, much more than a localized skirmish and that this conflict could be the prelude to something that has far-reaching apocalyptic implications for all Mankind...hence the inordinate interest by the world's media?!

In spite of the futile efforts of Western governments to down-play the true nature of the Middle East conflict as being primarily a spiritual war between the forces of Good and Evil that is also being 'worked out' here in the physical realm too, the plain fact is that this is a monumental 'Clash of the Titans' as two diametrically opposed world views (that of Judeo-Christianity and Islam) clash head on in a 'fight to the death'...except that the fight has already been won, nearly two thousand years ago when the Messiah, as G-d incarnate, went to the cross and, after three days and nights, was resurrected in order to demonstrate His absolute victory and mastery over death itself. Thus, those who have placed their faith in the Biblical G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and His Messiah, are not on the winning side, they are on the side that has won!

Much as been said and written about what the Nation of Israel will face during the "last days."

That term is used of events in Acts 2 that happened almost 2000 years ago, and that term applies to all that has taken place within the period of time we know as "church history."

This term "last days" will continue until the end of the Great Tribulation - it applies to the time when the sun will be darkened and the moon will turn to blood and the hearts of men around the world will panic and turn their hatred toward Jerusalem and the Nation of Israel, believing that their existence is the reason for the problems in the world and the lack of so-called "world peace." Don't tell Mel!!

These "last days" will culminate with the return of the Messiah of Israel to this planet, destroying all the armies of the world who think that they can attack the Nation of Israel without God responding to it. The Messiah will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed and He will personally reign as KING and PRIEST for ever!

The phrase "the Day of the Lord" is the final stage of the "last days." It appears from what is taking place presently that we are on the threshold of the beginning of this period of seven years known as "the Day of the Lord." There is nothing pleasant about it - it is a day of darkness, gloom, death, destruction, perils unprecedented, famine, disease and plagues out of control - in Biblical terms - ONE HALF of the world's population will be dead before this coming judgment of God will be half over!

Israeli desires for peace sometimes "cloud" the mind as to the truth. The Bible warns that Israel's leaders will be deceived and seduced by world leaders who will insist that "dividing" their God-given land and giving up some of Jerusalem will bring a measure of peace with Israel's historical enemies. It is a false peace. The Apostle Paul warns us in I Thessalonians 5:1-3 not to be deceived when the world says "peace and safety (Homeland Security?)" - for "sudden destruction" is just around the corner!

To find genuine peace and true comfort in these difficult days requires faith and commitment to the Messiah of Israel. Here at The Lion and Lamb Ministry we believe that the Messiah (in fulfillment of Malachi 3) has already been in Israel - before the Second Temple was destroyed - and that He is coming again - and will deliver the people of Israel from what will look like "sudden destruction." The hope for world peace is found in the PRINCE OF PEACE - the Messiah of Israel. We believe that the evidence and credentials for the Messiah are clearly fulfilled in the Person and work of Yeshua HaMashiach - Jesus the Messiah - adopted son of Joseph, promised descendent of Abraham, and the royal heir to the throne of Israel's King David.

Isaiah 45:22 quotes the Messiah: "LOOK UNTO ME, AND BE YE SAVED, ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH; FOR I AM GOD, AND THERE IS NONE ELSE."
