View Full Version : Standing With Israel in Crisis

Many American Jews are going to Israel to fight in the war. There are some Christian Jews and Christian Gentiles doing the same.

As Jews, would you return to Israel to stand with your own people if the Israeli army needed you?

Just curious.

That is a blood line calling, rich in the desire to save the family lines and lives. May all who do be blessed in their hearts and walk. We are all called for a purpose, and for those who have the military army heart for Israel, please go and serve a most important cause in this century, maybe even more important as the scriptural prophecies unfold and are being fulfiled before your eyes.

Just curious. Absolutly. My husband who is not Jewish, but served in the Vietnam War and 'knows how it goes' is ready to go to Israel and do anything he can, he just turned 60 and is heading for vascular surgery but he is willing to give what he's got.

Me, I say take me in, use me, I couldn't think of anything else I'd rather do. And if I die, I die, but there is no more noble reason to die, nor a better place to die that I could ever think of on the earth.

I am too old to go be in the army, but if I really thought my physical presence would make a difference, I would
be on a plane tomorow.
However, I can send financial support to Israel and to the IDF, which is what I do. I also financialy support
Hatzalah (who have a horrific job to do) as well as
Magen David Adom.
I can combat public misconceptions about Israel and the reasons for the new war.
And of course I keep Israel and the missing IDF soldiers
in all davening...as well as being part of a woman's circle who recite Tehillim for Israel and the missing soldiers..

I know many people at my Messianic church have expressed a willingness to join the fight if need be. A miracle of great proportions is taking place and it is an irony of history that is not to be lost. Christians who have historically persecuted the Jews for 1700 years are now supporting their defense ensuring survival against the hordes. May Moshiach return soon in all his brilliance and set up His kingdom forever!

If I had the finances I would go right now. I am glued to the T.V. as we watch the prophetic play out and I'm so pumped about the Messiah's return. I know YHVH's hand will be on Israel as they fight this darkness.

I have checked into ministries and other humanitarian programs Israel offers.

My prayer is to be lead by the Holy Spirit and not just what I want to do.

Regardless, my prayers are with them as they fight the evil behind the eyes of their enemy.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness". Eph 6:4-12

Just curious.I would not go to any country to "fight" unless ordered to, as that would involve intentionally killing someone, though I would possibly fight if my own country was attacked, but it would be hard for me personally to kill another human being.

I would help Israel/Lebanon though with humanitarian ways such as feeding the hungry or help rebuild wrecked homes or with shelters for both sides.

It is the innocent that also suffer in wars unfortuantely. :sigh:

Geez tough call. I spose I want to know two important things. Firstly, is my leadership in total subjection to following God and His will, and are my comrades sanctifying themselves to allow HaShem to use and dwell within them.

Of course the answer to both is no. I feel that Israel is still blind to its past. It still doesn't show the steadfast reliance on HaShem and His word. Where is the absolute assurance that what Israel is doing is inline with HaShems will??? How do we know that the continual vexation of the surrounding nations is because of Israels refusal to repent and turn to God?? Materialisim and Secularisim is just as rife in Israel as it is in the West.

I am not ignoring the fact that Prophecy is being fullfilled. Not in the least. But fulfilled prophecy and God Fearing leaders are not the same thing.

I feel that we must not be Stupidly Patriotic. I will stand with Israel, but not if it doesn't stand with Adoni.

Above all else, I will pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I long for the comming of the Prince of Peace, even so Lord, come and reign. :prayer:

Shalom Mishbocha:

I found an article titled "The First War, All Over Again". The first paragraph is copied below, followed by the link for your reference.

The First War, All Over Again
Daniel Gordis

This is a different kind of war, and an old kind of war. In the last war, when they blew up buses and restaurants and sidewalks and cafes, Israelis were enraged, apoplectic with anger. This time, it’s different. Rage has given way to sadness. Disbelief has given way to recognition. Because we’ve been here before. Because we’d once believed we wouldn’t be back here again. And because we know why this war is happening.

Joshua, King David and Gideon were warriors. I may be a girl but in the spirit I see myself no different than a male warrior. I believe for fighting for righteousness, regardless of who it might be. However, we are already commanded to BLESS ISRAEL according to the Holy Scriptures and it is Israel I stand with because God commanded it.

It is like a school bully who has the blind eye of the school authorities. The victim is told to put up with it. The Victim is told that to fight back is stupid.

The Bully will only get worse, the situation will only intensify, and the moral delemna will only cause festering and deteriation.

I agree that more prayer, more spiritual connected to the Lord's Will leaders of the great nation of Israel is necessary. For standing up in righteousness can only be done through His Power and Glory. But the Lord has promised for His Name Sake He will save this nation. Are we not to be prayer warriors? So, let our prayers be wise and precise. Let our prayers be decisive, and moved by the Will of God. Is that not what Daniel was doing when he received His visions?

I also agree that whatever humanitarian support we can give in this crisis, is an Abagail motivation, to keep things from escalating out of control. For even the war torn soldiers need to see that someone cares.

An article that isn't specifically talking about the current situation but could be construed with relevance. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2006/07/04/thank_god_for_moral_violence

Well said. Despite my previous post, I firmly believe that Israel is well within its rights in the current situation.

We must pray, we must seek the safetly of the Soldiers, and moreover me must ask for Gods Mercy.

We all must be asking for the restoration of Israel.
