Not true, I didn't get to drink any alcohol for awhile, too many narcotics. People might have noticed I've been a bit quiet around here, well I blew a disk in my back and I spent one week with each day getting worse and one day with each day getting better. At this point I'm really feeling pretty good.

The climax was last weekend where I spent Saturday in emergency here and Sunday in emergency in Minot. Minot had a MRI machine ready to go so I got to lie in that for 40 minutes (a medieval torture machine for a claustrophobic guy with back pain) and then they wouldn't let me go.

Neurosurgeon says it's one of the biggest ruptures he's ever seen, but I also have a lot of space in my spinal column so I don't have the nerves to my legs getting pinched. They couldn't believe that I had full strength and feeling in both legs.

So we don't have to do surgery so he recommended trying it without so it's rehab and exercises and waiting to see if things work. September with soil testing will be the big test if I can do it without ending up back in the hospital for surgery.

Elders were over and annoited me. Pastor gave me some of his seminary books to read, I'm still spending about half time in bed. Love Mueller's Dogmatics text, I can see I'm going to have to buy it.

I should be back a bit more, but I am still not sitting for long periods of time so maybe not too much, my duties as a head moderator on another board are taking a lot of my online time.

Oh my, did I just hijack a thread!

Couldn't resist Jim.

It is good to hear you are doing better, Marv. :)

A friend of mine has somehow of a similar problem.
The nerves to legs got pinched, so he is feeling that.

He had surgery, it repaired one part, another one however got somehow worse.

If you would need to have one, please, please find a reputable doctor (preferrably Lutheran :)).

Be well.

Ed
