Blessings for a customized homepage?

Im curious, I have read that if you have so many blessings, you can customize your homepage. Is this in addition to the customization you can do without blessings?

I think you can edit it without blessings.

What is the 1000 blessings for then?

Also, how do you get favorite pictures, etc. at the bottom of your homepage to show up?

The FAQ's on homepages needs to be updated/changed. It doesn't cost anything now to do your homepage. I didn't think I could change mine much but I had fun editing/adding to it. :)

Thats nice though that everone can have and edit their own webpage. Im just starting and its been alot of fun.
