It's really cute; whenever I walk with my kids in the mall, m daughter will usually go up to a window and there's and advertisement, she'll kiss it and cross herself. I have to explain to her it's not an icon and she's only 18 months. I just thought it was cool

That's very cute.

My wife's godmother just adopted two small children and the son Charles, now Basil, who is three, is really getting into kissing icons. In fact, he is now kissing everything and everyone.

As my Godparents like to say:

Kids are wired for Orthodoxy.

Yesterday my little Andy (yes, the same one - he's 15 months) watched my wife and I (the older children are at summer camp and the dacha, respectively) saying the Lord's prayer before lunch. He stood up and tried to copy our bows and crossing.

My youngest ones insist on a prayer when being tucked in.

My son insists on saying the Lord's prayer and Jesus prayer every night and has them both memorized, he also makes sure to tell his sister to bless herself when we eat, which she does. I really wish I could've grown up knowing all this
