Lutheran theology is the closest to what the Bible teaches.
Catholics are Christians, yes, as well as other denoms, but they have many errors that could lead their sheep astray.

Catholics alos Christians.
But much of Roman Catholic theology is not Christian, such as the necessity to believe in the Pope in order to be saved, or the doctrine of Purgatory becasue Jesus' sacrifice on the cross was not sufficient, etc.

Yeah, we can't really answer this here. I suggest you just read the threads in the forums. You'll learn lots about Lutherans and the different branches of Lutheranism.

You're not allowed to state that Lutheran Christians practice correct theology? The Lutheran Confessions in the Book of Concord state that we practice correct theology. It's not a confession if you don't confess it.

I intend to read up on Luther, but to clear up a misconception...Catholics don't need to believe in the Pope to be saved. :)

The First Vatican Council anathematized all who dispute the pope's primacy of honor and jurisdiction. Has this been reversed?

To clear up another misconception, Lutherans don't say that Roman Catholics think they need to believe in the Pope to be saved. Lutherans don't believe in Papal infallability as in Ex Cathedris rulings on Christian doctrine. (I hope I spelled that right).

Nope. Us Lutherans are still "cursed".

Umm, all I was saying was that the question was too vague. . .

No, JW's believe, teach, and confess that Jesus is not True God of True God, but a created being. Their sect is a false, heretical and antichristian cult that teach contrary to the Word of God. All godly Christians are to be on their guard as they love the welfare and salvation of their souls.

Four words: Unum Sanctum of 1302
(...OK, OK, so it's three words and a number...)
This particular bull was reaffirmed several times over the centuries, most recently by JPII.
