There is an extremely confusing pair of passages in New Testament Scripture, and I was wondering if anyone might put forth a possible explanation. In Matthew 2:1-2, we find,
"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."
Now, here is my question. These three came from the EAST. And, they state that they have seen his star in the east. But, if they had seen His star in the east, then they would have traveled from the WEST in order to follow it.
So, how could they travel west to follow a star that was in the east?
