i disagree with what uve said....

a christian has one enemy ..Satan, who uses temptations against us. World and flesh are temptations. Enemy is someone who is against u. The world isnt against us, we can embrace it wen we have God with us, and flesh, again God can help us be free from sin.

The Bible lists 3 main temptations but they all come from one enemy, the Devil.(see verse below) If you look at Jesus' temptations in the wilderness, the devil used these three temptations and He overcame them with the Word of God. Technically, our sin nature has nothing to do with the devil, but the devil brings temptation along that appeals to our sin nature. Thank God for the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13!
THe world really is full of servants of the devil doing what the devil wants them to do, not a separate enemy. The flesh is our sin nature, our bodily desires, or human desires(i.e. pride, lust, anger, etc.). In fact if you look in Revelation, even during the millenial reign, there still are those that are sinners even though the devil is in the bottomless pit. They are simply in hiding because of a reign of righteousness, then the devil comes back and gathers them for one last war. So, I kinda agree that the devil adn the flesh are separate, but really the devil uses the flesh to his advantage. I consider the devil one because he's the one who helped us get our sin nature right?

1Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Biggest enemy - the self, which is the embodiment of Satan.

I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the
faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Didn't Romans say to crucify the flesh?

Doesn't scripture tell us to die to the world? Paul went as far as to say "... I die daily."

Doesn't Satan prowl the earth as a roaring lion, seeking to devour whom he will?

I agree wholeheartedly with Daniels.

just curious, I've seen you say that the greatest sin is pride on a couple different threads. Why do you say that? Not arguing, just curious why you would say that. I would think that pride is idolatry and therefore could be considered the greatest sin, yet I don't know if I would say that pride is the greatest sin necessarily. Curious to hear your basis for that.

All sin is pride.
