Whenever I see a christian girl who's around my age on the forums or at other places, there always so cute, and I just want to go after them...

Do you think i'm crazy or what...

I think that part of being a Christian is having control over your lusts.

I hope when you say that you "just want to go after them" you mean you want to be honorable and respectful with them.

Crazy? No. Most 16 year olds are interested in people of the opposite sex.

Granted, I was one notable exception. But hey, maybe one of these days I'll grow out of the "girls are gross" phase.

Well, if we take that analogy to it's logical conclusion (also reminding ourselves that Christians are only to marry other Christians), this means that Richard has the hots for his sisters. ^_^

It's normal just don't let it be your main focus. Keep your priorities in order. :)

I too find them cute. I desire to find a godly woman and settle down here. That'd be nice.

I think we already established your craziness;)

I married the first Christian girl I ever dated.

Christian girls aren't the only cute ones, all women are beautiful--one of the top 5 beautiful creations God has done (children & flowers are in there-haven't decided on the other two:scratch:)

ARE christians suppose to only marry other christians?

Ps28:7
15th July 2006, 07:53 PM
one would assume that we are to marry only Christians, esp. since 2 Cor. 6:14 says not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers...and not to fellowship with lawlessness or darkness...i think marriage goes a little further than just fellowship...
as far as RichardT being crazy...well i don't think crazy is the word..but do you think other non-Christian girls are cute???

But Menno, my books and Matrix uplink are my only excuse for not talking to girls. Surely you can't take that away!

An example of my ineptness in dealings with the opposite sex: so a couple days ago I went to the gym. The girl at the front desk who swiped my card asks, "so, is it pronounced 'Aron?'" I respond by pronouncing my name correctly, and she says, "ooh, I like that even better." And my best response is...absolutely nothing. Of course it was for the sake of prudence rather than shyness that I just shut up, since otherwise I would have said something stupid like, "if you like that, you should hear my middle name." As some Scripture somewhere says,
Blessed is he who knows not, and knows that he knows not. (Probably some Chinese proverb...or perhaps an Apocryphal book)
Alas, I can always use the excuse that God has called me to singleness. That, and a physics experiment, will keep me safe from the girls for quite awhile. :D

Quite right. Ps28:7 quoted the pertinent Scripture. The Apostles teach us not to court or marry non-Christians, since the light of Christ ought not to have fellowship with the devil. Interfaith marriage is only permissible when one spouse becomes a believer after being married. As it says,
To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. (1 Corinthians 7:12-13)
In all other cases, we should not be married to unbelievers.

Eh, take your time. And girls like the bumbling genius thing, which sounds like you can handle with little difficulty.;)

Are you scared of talking to girls or just don't care to right now? I promise we don't bite :P (or not too hard ;) :P )

No, not scared, just inept. I don't think I've yet come to grips with the concept that girls aren't impressed by physics. But I think that if I pulse the magetic field so as to cause precession at the Larmour frequency, I might be able to collect some data on the subject and perform a least squares analysis.

Oops, there I go again.

Some girls are impressed by physics. Even Christian girls. You just have to find the right one--my mom was a Christian girl who married a physicist after all ;)

Oh, I know they're out there, but they are a very rare find. I've never met one (though I'm told one attends my church), but I can deduce this statistically. On a university campus, Christian girls are uncommon enough. Physics girls are still rarer. So if you multiply these two fractions, you get a very small number.

Oh wait, she's got to be Calvinist too. I can't go around dating heretics. :D
