Those who are Messianic and many Christians will recognize this name, this wonderful talent, whom the L-rD has blessed, who sings his praises and pokes fun at himself and who is always, always humble every time I have seen him.

Some of his albums:

I call you friend ( he debuted this at a concert sponsered by my synogogue back a few years ago) Songs include 'He is my defence'

The Love of G-d - songs such as Henanei, and 'For Zions Sake'

Psalm Enchanted Evening - Prince of Peace, A Jew born anew'

As well as other great albums

He performed this past Thrusday at Messiah college, Messiah Conference 2006. Even though his daughter joined him on stage in a beautiful duet, It was with a heavy heart he told us how thankful he was for the support of many, and of his being blessed year after yeart to perform on the Stage of Messiah conference.

But now he is taking time off, not of his wanting but of need, you see, his wife has been diagnosed with cancer.

A good portion of the Rabbis present gathered around him after his performance ( which ended with him asking us to all join him in 'He is My Defence!") to pray over him as did the attending audience. He also visited the Cultural Center where my husband had a chance to privately lay hands upon him and pray for him and his family.

I ask you all now to join many around the world to lift up our voices for the one who has lifted up his voice in praise to Hashem and Moshciah for many a year now, in his time of need for the L-RD to be gracious and show mercy and sent His Holy Shalom to the Goetz household.

HE is my defense I Shall NOT BE MOVED!!!!!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. We had the opportunity to meet him last year at the Regional MJAA conference (we went just the one evening to hear him) and he said a blessing over our daughter whom he was getting quite the kick out of. (She isn't at all shy!)

We will pray for him and his family.

I was thinking about his wife just today. I had the news on an email from his website a while ago. Oh, Father, wrap your arms around your daughter and lift her up on eagle's wings. Bless and comfort her family, that they may know you are there! Amen.

L-rd I pray that this cancer will become dried up and cast away. And give this family the strength to stand agents this time of heaviness, fear, & tears. In the name of Yeshua our Messiah "be healed”!.

Does anyone know what type of cancer she had?

Shalom to Marty Goetz and his family.

His music is wonderful - it's not as up-beat get up and dance as say Paul Wilbur or Ted .... but it is great for contemplation and prayer. If memory serves you can hear samples on his website (http://www.martygoetz.com/). I also highly recommed his live concert DVD - Psalm Enchanted Evening - not only is it great music, but he also gives his testimony.

Used to be when you ordered directly from his website his wife would include a lovely handwritten note along with the order.

I'm sorry, Zayit, but I do not remember. I want to say bowel - I do remember thinking it was unusual for someone her age. I'll check out the website. I got an email yesterday saying that they would set up a separate mailing list re her health and that they were delaying treatment a bit to let HaShem do His work! :)

Here it is - from his website:

One of those “things” is cancer, in this case squamous cell carcinoma which was found inside Jennifer’s anal wall after first showing itself in a couple of swollen lymph nodes removed by a surgeon. The protocol being suggested by an oncologist is a combination of chemotherapy and radiation, a therapy that will take about 5-6 weeks beginning July 18th, 2006 (we moved it back a week). This course of action is aggressive and intense. Jenny will have the help of cherished friends periodically during the treatment, particularly when I travel to fulfill various commitments.

That's skin cancer, I believe, but can show up almost anywhere. A friend here in Florida had it diagnosed in her retina. She lost her eye, but she's still with us!

Abba Father - we lift up Jenny Goetz who is a treasure to her husband and child. We ask that you do a supernatural work in her - heal her to your glory!

My wife is a resent survivor of cancer {this year} and will be on a light chemotherapy that she will have to take for the next 5 years.

This family’s emotional state is very critical and hard on them right now, and we should pray for there strength to be strong at this hard time in there life’s. “May they have a Shalom that passes all understanding?” And may all traces of this cancer evaporate.

I want to say that the survival rate for cancer is very high today. It’s better than 50/50.
Catching it as early as possible is very important. My wife’s cancer was a year old when we caught it.

Torah, I'm including your wife in my prayers.

Yes, from experience with my mother's cancer, it's vitally important to include the family when praying. That they remain strong and lean on the L-rd for support!
