Evangelicals to push for more SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL
Will lobby Capitol, White House

By Julia Duin
The Washington Times

More than 3,000 pro-Israel evangelical Christians will be in town next week for a "Washington/Israel summit" to push the Bush administration toward stronger support for the Jewish state.

Starting with a banquet July 18 at the Hilton Washington and visits to Capitol Hill the next morning, the inaugural gathering of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) will showcase a deeper cooperation between evangelical Christians and Jews in the face of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's suggestion in October, often reiterated since, that Israel "be wiped
off the map."

Organizers say Israeli Ambassador Daniel Ayalon, retired Israeli defense chief Lt. Gen. Moshe Yaalon and Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman -- all of whom are Jewish -- will be at the dinner. Several members of Congress also are scheduled to attend, including Republican Sens. Sam Brownback of Kansas and Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, both Catholics.

Leading evangelicals that have confirmed their invitations include the Rev. Jerry Falwell and Gary Bauer.Their host will be Texas evangelist the Rev. John C. Hagee, pastor of the 18,000-member Cornerstone Church in San Antonio and author of "Jerusalem Countdown," a 2006 book about a nuclear-armed Iran."There's a new Hitler in the Middle East," Mr. Hagee said in an interview. "He's talking about killing Jews. He will have the ability to do so with nuclear weapons.

"I believe that the president of Iran fully intends there to be a nuclear holocaust. The only way he will be stopped will be by a pre-emptive military strike in Iran."The United Nations condemned Israel when it launched a pre-emptive strike in 1981 against Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's nuclear program by bombing the Osirak nuclear reactor. Mr. Hagee said American evangelicals must provide cover for Israel in the case of a pre-emptive attack -- "as a last resort," he specified -- on Iran."We are not going to be silent," he said. "We are organizing Christians from coast to coast to express themselves in the support of Israel. I don't believe Congress has a clue how much grass-roots support for Israel exists in the evangelical community."

+ NOTE: Now is the time for true Christians to take a stand! The time for "political correctness" is over! America as a nation must now be united against enemies of Israel like never before! If we fail to support the "chosen people" in this time of conflict, our fate will be worse than theirs!

The IDF has been completely justified in all that has been done to eradicate enemy strongholds in recent days! Those who condone, encourage, propagandize, or exploit these events for political or monetary reasons better hope they are on the same page as God! This is the beginning of a "shaking" that will separate the chaff from the wheat! The "dividing line" between nations will become very clear in coming weeks.

President Bush needs to take off the velvet gloves, put our diplomatic agenda aside, and order the military to impose themselves in the Middle East in a strong -- "symbolic" way -- to impress the world with our determination to support Israel. Any sign of weakness by the United States will result in further erosion between the sons of Abraham!

We can now expect APEC to assert itself for the purpose of holding us back! If we buckle under because of economic issues raised over diminishing shipments or increased prices of crude oil, the next big event will be "nuclear" rather than a few suicide bombers or missiles.

Even though the sun might be shining, life might seem normal, and we are thinking everything will be okay in our own little part of the world, the "flame" has been lit and the "fuse" is burning!

You know, I understand their point, the Word says those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem will prosper. But, at the same time, Gods' plan has been put in place, it's gonna happen just as He says it will. Including the attacks on His holy city.

Even though this may be an unpopular opinion to have around here, I think the actions of Israel in the past few weeks are despicable. They lay waste to peoples homes, and destroy the infastructure of a country, all over the 3 abducted soldiers. Its a sad time for the families of those missing soldiers, but what right does Israel have to destroy a neighboring country?

I agree that they have the right to defends themselves, but once again they are playing the victim, when they are the actual aggressors. Its my honest opinion that the Zionists which got Israel back to their homeland, were acting on their will, not God's. Thats why there is such problems with the surrounding countries. If this was just the foretold problems they were to have, the tribulation would have started by now.

What is meant to be will be. What I mean by that is, whatever the Lord has planned will occur without your consent or agreeance. What we must remember is that we are to love. Israel did exactly what any country would have done. I am a soldier and if someone kidnapped me I would hope my country would do something even if it resulted in war. Israel has been a boiling pot ever since Jesus returned to Heaven. He foretold of things to come. You cannot say that the acts of Israel are dispicable knowing that God's plan must unfold. If I were you I would be in prayer for Israel and not let anger overtake your sober judgement.

Because the Jews are Gods' chosen, always have been and always will be. America has always had a heart for Isreal, but as the time draws near, you will see that lessen.

Really? Last time I checked they've fallen out of grace with God.

37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Almost 40% of Lebanon's population is Christian.

I'm not going to throw unconditional support behind either side in this conflict.

Yes I wish that we, like them, would kill off over one hundred christians in four days as a "statement." Only in our politically correct times would we be celebrating the massacre of christians simply because it was done by jews.

My Bible says salvation is to the Jew first, and part of end time prophecy is to give them back the land God promised, that's why they are going back. They have never fallen out of Gods' grace, and never will (why else would Yeshua set up His temple in Jerusalem, and why was He a Jew)?

Killing hundreds of innocents in the process,
Why defend such actions?
Surely You must see the otherside of the coin, the pain and suffering caused by them in the name of God.
Is that excusable ? As they are "chosen"

I'm going to quote myself from another thread:

Nothing you've said here disproves John Ch. 8. The non-Christian Jews have lost favor with God. Jesus Christ never used the term "Christian" to describe his followers. To Jesus a "Jew" was a follower of God and in John 8 Jesus makes it clear that a person who doesn't recognize him as the lord isn't really a Jew.

Today's Jews are not what Jesus Christ considered as "God's chosen," he considered the real Jews, who followed Jesus because they knew of God, to be the "chosen." Today we call these Jews: Christians.

Jesus wasn't a Jew in todays sense of the word. He was, what today we call, a Messianic Jew.

OK. I'm on the edge of my seat - after thinking about it, what conclusion do you draw? I've already thought about it :scratch:I shall now reveal my point [drumroll]:

I think people often actually think of Jesus as a christian. But he wasn't. He was pretty darn far from the religious image we have of him, I think. I hardly believe you could tell he was the Messiah by the white robe and the way he walked. I think he looked like any other man. No shining aura around him.

I believe Jesus was about a hundred times more free than most of his believers today. I'm sure he was not bound by all the silly christian rules for clothing, language, singing, worship, food, drink etc. I don't think Jesus even had a doctrine.

I don't think Jesus would EVER say anything like "WWJD"? He would simply inspire by his prescence and his love.

Jesus wasn't as uptight as we are. He knew God is a person, not a morality. A father more than a judge. I think Jesus was more human than any of us dare to be.

Yeshua couldn't be a Christian for 2 reasons. 1) A christian is one who is born again by His blood, and 2)He is God, how can God be a christian?
As far as a Jew being only a Godly Jew, I am sure hundreds if not thousands who have come back to Isreal in this time, are not all Godly.
As far as pain suffered in the name of God, how many thousands of Jews have been slaughtered by Christians for being Christ-killers, "in the name of God"?

That's not my point. The point is many things by many people are done in the name of God, it doesn't make one more right than the other, they're all wrong. But you seem to zone in on the Jews, when it's alot more people than that.

But NO violence. When it comes to sin, we are told to purge the evil from among us. So, there is no need to get violent, just turn them over to Satan so that he can deal with their flesh. Another thing is that we need to be praying and fasting over the situation.
